I helped a buddy of mine enable the factory boost gauge and his will only read .5psi. Not sure what they do in the tune.

He’s tuned Rob at PBD
The signal to the oem gauge is a digital one, meaning no scaling is required because the number is communicated not like a 0-5v signal that must be converted.

Unless it’s a roush kit, the number is inferred not measured. The speed-density model in the computer calculates the manifold pressure because it is needed to predict throttle body flow. The accuracy of the speed-density model, and how it’s configured, will determine how and how accurately the boost gauge reads.

^ This.

And, there is more than one way to skin a cat per se as far as tuning goes. Which is why some tunes cause this to read inaccurately, but the car runs/drives great and makes good numbers. Nothing wrong with that either, it's just how that tuner prefers to do things.

I can only speak for Whipple tuning on my setup, which appears to be 100% on with my mechanical gauge, however I am at stock boost levels, and have no idea above that if they are still accurate. I am planning on going Ethanol soon, and adding boost, so I wanted to get something in here that can actually read boost proper once I start down that road.

Ran with the OEM boost/Vac gauge for 2 years though, it was pretty much the only gauge I kept up on the dash all the time from then on! haha.

I had one in my car, was not accurate. It said i was making 14psi on an 82mm pulley lol. I changed out the eco gauges for real boost and oil pressure gauges and they look and work awesome.

hi, I know this old, but do you know what the size of gauges is? im also planning on using a real boost gauge and perhaps a fuel pressure one instead of oil pressure.

thanks
