I have been in talks with Epiphany and Jeremy about a similar project. I was going to 3D scan an OEM and make some changes.

Those pictured don't look right to me.

Edit to add:

I found a side by side of OEM GT500 vs the multimatic GT4 wing that Tob posted a while back.

That van had to be F'd up.

And it looks like daddy shouldn't have touched them either. What an idiot placing the mother load 8 feet away from where you are staging ignition.

My local fireworks store had a $2,000 package called "grounds for divorce".

There was a lucky winner of that package in a drawing they had. I winder if this was them?

The result would be appropriate.

I would have loved to see the end of that video because I put money that the van went up in flames. And yes the motherload should have never been outside or that close. What a asshat.

Is the downforce really that substantial going from regular to gt4 uprights?

Not being an engineer I would assume so otherwise why would the GT4 car have them? It seems to me the higher you raise it the more it protrudes into the airstream where it’s less disturbed by the air coming over the roof.

My understanding (And I am no expert) that the higher and more in line you make the wing with the top of the car the more downforce you will have being that the uprights are longer ad become more unstable at that rate of speed. Think of it like a weight and the end of a stick, the shorter the stick the less bending/flexing, the longer the stick more bending/flexing and more likely to snap.

I guess looking at the rules of wing placement the GT4 has to follow would help answer the question. If there are no rules about wing placement or upright style then you would imagine that the engineers were trying to balance the downforce on the GT4 with the front splitter, but on the GT500, Ford has to contend with all sorts of safety standards (hence why the Laguna Seca never had it splitter attached from the factory) that the GT4 doesn't have to compete with and the placement on the GT500 balanced the car out with a factory safety tested front splitter.

They placed the wing Height on the CFTP for aesthetics. the car has been engineered for that height. Raising the elevation of the wing may or may not increase down force. The air stream does closely follow the contour of the car, and Most likely would be about the same(ish) downforce. Besides, who needs more than 550# of down force anyway? (except the people who actually drive their car to those speeds). Not many do.

I seriously doubt I will see any heritage editions at Daytona next December. They will probably be off at cars and coffee bragging off their special paint color. And if I did, they will be running parade glory laps.....

I know I will bring mine to Lime Rock, NJMP, and Watkins Glenn along with whatever autocross courses are available. Even then, the only time I would really be able to stretch the legs of a GT500 and use the 550# of downforce would maybe be at the front straight of NJMP and the Back straight at Watkins Glen if they don't have the inner loop.
