Good day gents,
I am facing few problems with my transmission on ford mustang 2018 eco. (jerky upshift/downshift)
As i read the forum most of the problems are eliminated with reflushing the TCM upshift/downshift strategy.
Now to the problem part, in my country Ford mustang is not supported and they don't have soft or the updates for my car.

How i can do it myself? I have OBD cable and Forscan application.
Can anyone guide me through the process of obtaining correct software update for my car, and how to flush it?

Only dealer can do it (or someone with access to IDS tool I believe) unless you go aftermarket.

I wish you luck on fixing the problems. I have similar issues. Been waiting to see the dealer... if/when it gets fixed, I will let you know what was done.

I do not want to scare you - I had my software reflashed and it changed nothing :frown:

Go here, then scroll down to Fact 3 which discusses using Forscan for 10R80 strategy flashing:

Hi, i have already reset the adaptive learning,' but it fixed only 30% of issues, finally i found a guy who somehow uses ford ids and said he can update my tcm software, lets see if it helps
I just want to eliminate all software issue possibilities before overhauling the transmission:)

After update of tcm version i guess i have to reset trans learning again,

So far the steps i performed were, adding 2 litres of trans fluud, = no result
Resetting adaptive learning= eliminated the lunge when i switch to D position, and decreased lunge a bit when switch to R

But main upshift downshift issue still persist, today gonna flash tcm,' lets see if it helps))

Finally I found a guy with Ford IDS,
He installed latest updates for PCM/TCM and solenoid strategies,
Reset adaptive tables.

Problem is mitigated by 30% but it still persist but changed the pattern.
Before update main Harsh Downshift/Upshift was causing gear 3
now Downshift from 3 to 1 is like butter, upshift is still a bit laggy,
However now the problematic gear is gear 5 :D
and also i noticed when car goes UP the hill, (on Incline level) it downshifts harshly from 3 to 1

Performed full car diagnostics via ford IDS., no DTC in car at all.
Trans fluid level is okay (1.5-2 Liters were missing added it few month ago)
Latest software updates installed
Adaptive tables reset.

Now i am think of problem with valve body because my car was manufactured before 20-nov-2017, but:

2. Using the appropriate Ford scan tool or equivalent, retrieve DTCs. Are P0741 and P1744 the only DTCs stored in the PCM or TCM? (1).
Yes - proceed to Step 3.
(2). No - this article does not apply. Refer to the PC/ED Manual for normal diagnostics.
3. Replace the main control valve body assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

But i don't receive any DTC while performing scan, does it mean that valve body is not my issue at the moment ?
