My guess is that in 40 years gasoline will be all but gone and our cars will be worth nothing but museum pieces....
Until someone comes up with a serious plan to add infrastructure for charging electric vehicles and the range/charging times improve we will still be using gasoline no matter how angry it makes the tree huggers.
i think it’s great that the owner profiled in the article has 100k on his gt350. Other people get a lot of enjoyment out of just owning something to look at and driving it occasionally. Doesn’t bother me at all. If you’re paying the bill do whatever makes you happy :)

Oil in all its grades and fractured components is absolutely indispensable to all aspects of modern life. No oil, means no medicine, no medical sterility, no packaged food and a billion other things. You can not refine oil and NOT end up with gasoline.

The only people who believe oil can be removed from life are hopelessly stupid or ignorant. Or they just want to see you dead.

That's a lot of driving! I had trouble parking my GT350 on poor weather days when I owned it, but I only put on about 10,000 miles a year.

The GT is a lot easier to let sit, though.

Cars are meant to be driven..... If you want an investment, get a mutual fund.

My bet is that you're going to be shocked how much things change in the next 10 years.

Such an opinionated, dumb a$$ article and position to take. You own it, do what makes YOU happy. If looking at a zero mile car in a garage makes you happy, f$&@ everyone else. Hypocrites. Let’s see how many people complain 30 years from now when they pick up a ‘17 350 with 2,000 miles on it.

If I had to stop driving my car tomorrow for some unforeseen, unfortunate reason, that fu$&er will sit right in my dang garage for me to continue to enjoy.

Mustangs were made to be driven, each time I take my GT500 out, I am usually out most of the day.

I’m shocked at what’s changed in the last year lol.
But I don’t see the actual work being done to implement a replacement of gas cars. The most populous state has a shortage of electricity now. Where exactly are they going to generate the power to charge vehicles? The best and brightest in DC can repeat the green new deal from now until they drop dead but they’ve already managed to piss off most of the country and that’s before telling them they can’t fill their gas tanks. I have no doubt it will happen eventually. But the realities of energy production and the economy as a whole are in the way and likely will be for some time.
