It isD1 is for 1971. I believe it is either a 351 or 400 Cleveland. https://www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/a-guide-to-ford-v8-engine-block-casting-numbers-1952-1996/
Can't quite make out the 3rd digit in the picture of the block though.
The exhaust ports seem to be too small for a CJ, and a D1VE block won't have 4-bolt mains IIRC. Need better pics and numbers off the cylinder heads. Generally the 429 CJs didn't have blue painted valve covers though. If I had to guess it's probably a garden variety 429 or 460.The seller is saying it is a Cobra Jet.... Is that something that can be confirmed?
Thank you very much for the helpThe exhaust ports seem to be too small for a CJ, and a D1VE block won't have 4-bolt mains IIRC. Need better pics and numbers off the cylinder heads. I have a 460 on an engine stand at home in my shop, I'll try to remember to take a peek at the block casting number.
From what I've read 429 CJ/SCJ blocks are cast D0VE-A or D1VE-AA.The seller is saying it is a Cobra Jet.... Is that something that can be confirmed?
