Hi All,

Wonder if anyone has any clues - V8 Mustang Bullitt .
A rattle/vibration appears 3rd Gear around 1800-2100 rpm / 4th Gear 1400-1600rpm / 5th Gear 1200-1400 rpm..
Dealer tells me its normal noise ....I tell them otherwise ( its been back 4 times , and all I get is the big palm ).

The noise seems to come from the left side , near the gear the box but almost like its under the glovebox/consol area..

I wont be taking my car back to the FORD service workshop in Brisbane ( Metro Newstead ) .

Thanks if anyone can help or recommend another workshop , who will actually listen to there customer....

Any aftermarket parts? Mine developed a vibration because my Steeda Gtrac brace was ever so slightly touching coolant lines.

You might be hearing this counterbalance weight on the side of your transmission. My Bullitt has one and it rattles. Some people remove them with no detrimental effects and install a Ben Calimer block off plate in it’s place. Get underneath and wiggle it and you’ll easily see how badly it rattles.

Thanks for the heads up , this maybe it - although you'd think the genius at Ford service would know this after 4 trips.......

I think it’s there to try and smooth out the shifts, although those who have removed them report no negative effects from removing it. Whenever it’s time to change the clutch in mine, the counterbalance weight is coming off. Here’s an article where someone’s fell off on it’s own.

@Rooster69 along the lines of what @NGOT8R said does the noise change if you apply slight sideways pressure to the gear stick? It shouldn't rattle.
Hi definitely didn't work .....the rattle is definitely coming thru from the left of the gear box near the passenger side consol/footwell area.......the mystery continues...
