Hi all,

I’m installing my 15x9.33” wheels in a couple of weeks and looking for a 28x10.50 small tire drag radial that will perform well in mediocre track conditions. Car will be leaving on boost via the Boost Leash with C02 and 2-relay transbrake. Mustang is a fully built auto Hellion TT GT. Not interested in a bias ply as I have all adjustable Kelltrac Vikings that I can setup properly for a radial.

I ran 1.54 60’ last year leaving on 0 psi with the transbrake on 2500 RPM with 17” 305/45/17 ETSR’s. The car dead hooked.

I plan on running much more boost this upcoming season and looking for the best drag available for a 15”.

Thank you.

Shaun

I can run both the 17’s or 15’s. There’s much more options when it comes to a 15” wheel/tire combo.

I've ran the following and had success with them all.

325/50R15 ET-R
315/60R15 ET Pro
275/60R15 ET Pro

For a 15x9.33 I would probably run a 275/60R15 ET Pro personally.

Thanks man. I’ve been looking at the 275/60R15 ET Pros. I’ve been told they hook excellent on prepped surfaces. Not so sure about our track. It’s prepped, but not very much. The track comes around in the afternoon when all the big tire cars lay some rubber down.

That's what I ran for Rockymountain Raceweek this last fall. I ran at five different tracks and definitely never had any issues, of course the car was turned way down to about 800whp to run the 10.0 index class.

Are you planning on comparing the 17" setup with the 15" on same day conditions? Local friend of mine switched to the 15"x9.33 and actually had better luck with his 17" setup. He ended up switching back.

Yes. I’ll try and post up the results as best as I can given the circumstances. What issues did your friend encounter?

He just couldn't ever get his to 60' as well as his 17" setup. His 17's had a wider contact patch and despite having more sidewall on the 15" the 17's worked better for his particular setup. I've seen many running 15's and working great though. That's why I was wondering if you'd be doing any back to back testing. Looking forward to the results.

Btw, I switched from 17" to 15" on my previous car (03 cobra), but that was a hard leaving stick car with a solid rear and it needed the sidewall. It did go faster on 15's.
