The value of a 2 piece rotor can be found in weight savings, ease of replacing rotors from hats and keeping heat away from bearings. If your just a causal driver none of these things are of value and ultimately a pretty expensive mod just “for looks”.

However it’s your money and spend how you see fit.

I went with the Steeda 2 piece option and run Hawk pads all around. Loud as shit and dusty AF but a massive upgrade over stock. Don’t forget to upgrade your fluid and do it often.

These are on the wrong side as well. Probably not huge difference at the end of the day but just saying. If you flip sides it actually may help with the Brake Dust as it will swipe it down and out vs up and towards the Wheel.

The Rotor is on the wrong way, you need to switch left/right, a different thread complained about no Steeda markings for installation.
I think the slots should be facing forward, I think they need to be swaped. Might want to verify with Steeda. Good catch. We all need to help each other out.

Steeda told me the slots face rearward. Maybe @tj@steeda can clear it up

One of the first mod's if you're a track or heavy spirited driving person. I would argue same price as stock Rotors as you'll go through way more stock then 2-piece. I've warped/cracked stock rotors when using strong Track pads. Zero with 2-piece.

Plus weight savings and look trick!

Hum, not sure what. "slots face rear" means, you can say my photo above faces rear. This is the correct way.

Think of it this way, rotation of rotor will swipe dust down from outside of pad to bottom of pad (closest to the center).

If Rotor is on wrong side you can easily see how slot rotation will blow all the dust out the top of the Brembo Caliper.

That would be what I'd say faces forward. Top of groove leads bottom.

I was told steeda rotors are opposite, bottom of groove leads top.

@tj@steeda please confirm.

Yea, all depends how they have the veins inside the rotors angled. I have no clue on those

This should help: FYI Vein direction is NOT same as slot direction.

slotted rotor direction of rotation

From Brembo:

Which direction should the discs rotate?
It is a popular misconception that the slots or drillings in a disc determine the direction of rotation. In truth, for an internally vented disc, the geometry of the vanes dictates the direction of rotation. There are three vane types in use:
Straight
Pillar vane (comprised of many small posts)
Curved vane
The first two vane types are non-directional, and can be used on either side of the vehicle. The curved vane disc, however, is directional. A curved vane disc must be installed with the vanes running back from the inside to outside diameters in the direction of rotation. Please see figure. Orienting the disc in the manner creates a centrifugal pump. The rotation of the disc causes air to be pumped from the center of the disc, through the vanes, and out through the outside diameter of the disc. This greatly enhances the disc's ability to dissipate heat.

Additionally, all of Brembo's slotted discs are directional as well, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first.

Funny because I went down this route a couple years ago. There's a thread on it and even in Steeda's YouTube page shows them in this orientation. IIRC I swapped them a while back based upon feedback. If they aren't right, I’ll swap them over…again lol:crackup:

Note that my wheels are track and dust scarred. IDGAF LOL.

Lastly, my original pic was right after install and taken in front of the alignment shop. That was a while ago. Note that my wheels are track and dust scarred. IDGAF LOL.
They are mounted correctly. For some reason Steeda makes the slots on the swept surface the opposite design of most rotors.
