Hey Ira don't be sad!...My Dad bought the Caprice before I got my license so it sat at home for a few weeks until my test was scheduled. On the day of my driving test, he drives it to the DMV in Newark. We wait in line and I get behind the wheel. The instructor gets in when its my turn to drive and the car won't start! Starter died! Had to tow it to a garage and get it fixed.......then had to reschedule the test!when I was a kid all you thought about was turning 17 and getting a car. That represented freedom. I remember paying for insurance at 17 so I could use it whenever I wanted. My parents did pay for my first car in 1974... it was a 67 Chevy Caprice, 327 2bbl, four door, blue with black vinyl roof.paid $400 from our landlord. Had it for one week before T boning a guy that ran a stop sign! Cost another $400.00 to repair!

All that just to wreck it a few weeks later.
