Paxton/vortech and cold weather

Anyone here that has started their paxton or vortech in cold weather? I see that the manual says it shouldn't be started in Temps below 25F. Just wondering how big of an issue this is. I live in south carolina, doesn't typically get that cold here but just curious.

Is there some sort of heated blanket that can be used to keep it warm until started? In case it was too get really cold here.

You have a garage? If so i don’t see why you couldn’t use a small space heater in a cleared area of the garage

I suspect it is a clearance issue, which could be fixed by preheating with something to get the blower above the temp. I am not worried about it in TX, and kept inside either way.

may be extreme but for me I would just remove the belt for the winter since I don't actually drive the car. just need to start it once in a while to move it out of my way.

They say the same thing about the procharger but i ran my old p1sc multiple years in northern winters. Probably has more to do with lubrication at low temps.

The difference is in the Procharger manual it says nothing about concerning yourself with cold weather starts, while the competition does. So it's not rumor mill, it's actually in the warranty language for Paxton/Vortech.

It said something about, I can’t remember. Probably like idle it for some time. Im not saying its a rumor.

The prochager rep has been on here stating there are no cold weather restrictions and also talks about all the cold weather military and other applications they have.

Two NY winters and 7000 miles on my Procharger P1X. Just let engine get to operating temp before I bring revs past 3000 when is it’s very cold.

Thanks, didn’t know that. If it wasn’t for the false knock issue I could never get rid of I would have bought a procharger for the new car.

Actually makes me think. Could I just remove my pulley for the paxton. Then put in my stock belt and tune. Or did too much change for the old tune to work? I had an old 93 tune from lund.

It says it is due to minimal clearances to make it quiet. I can't find anyone stating they have started them in cold weather. Like is it going to immediately break if I start it at 25F? That doesn't seem all that cold to me.

I cant really find a good solution for a way to heat it up while I'm at work. I feel like whatever I use will drain the battery.
