I installed mine myself. Any bodyshop can install them if you are not comfortable doing them.

Just make sure if you're outsourcing to any shop for the install you check any available online reviews from other customers.

I agree and like the stripe color combo you're going to go with, it definitely breaks up the monotony of the solid black body. Another change to do for an all black vehicle would be to get a set of rims that aren't black - those will also make the body "pop". Black rims are nice, I have them on my 2018 and 94 Cobra, but sometimes depending on vehicle body color, black rims can get lost in the mix if you know what I mean.

I say do it yourself, it's really not that hard. I've done 4 cars now and it just keeps getting easier. If you do it yourself it should cost around $150 for all your materials. Watch a few videos on you tube for more tips and tricks then get at it. Clean your car real well. I suggest washing the whole car to prevent any stray particles from getting under the wrap. That stuff is very staticy. Clean the area the wrap will go with iso alcohol. Double check your measurements and have at it. Take your time, don't rush it. If this is your first time expect it to take at least 6 to 8 hours unless you have some good help. Metrorestyling.com is a great site for this. Here's 2 of the cars I've done.

Thanks guys for all the responses. It's been a busy day and I didn't get the chance to call the shop before they closed. I'll do that tomorrow. Once I confirm that the shop will do stripes I buy from somewhere else I'll place my order.

I realize these aren't all that hard to do but see this right here sticks out to me:

I don't really have any place "dust free" to do this. I don't want to throw $350 down the hole trying to do it myself. You should see me with Cell phone screen protectors... 🙄

I think I might be better off having someone else do it. Of course if its something like $800 to apply the decals then.... well, I'll end up doing it myself. I'm sure you'll see me on here with my next awesome thread titled: "Stripes - how do I get them off and where did I go wrong?" :like:

Gratuitous dealer pic from today when my buddy picked it up for me. Putting it on the showroom floor was a nice touch. I cant wait to get to NY and see it in person!!

It shouldn't cost you but about $150 for the vinyl, knifeless tape and the few other supplies you'll need. A garage would much it go a lot smoother for sure. Best thing about using vinyl wrap is you can make the stripes the size you want. Even follow the lines on the car.

No one wanted to install my stripes obtained elsewhere and local prices were all over $1K in SEATTLE... Did it myself, twice now. It's not too hard.

WOW.... A grand?? Yeah I'll just end up doing it myself if that is the case. Maybe I can get the Missus to help out. She is more patient with these things than I am and far more artistic.

If you were in my area, I'd help you.
Hey thanks man, I appreciate that. It's the one thing that makes forums like this tough. Everyone is so spaced out. It's cool in a way, but in situations like this, not so much.

Why not post in your local section. Lots of members in VA. Bet you can find someone to help.

I just spoke with a local shop that had done some paint work for me a while back on the hood of my '13. He said if I get the stripes they can definitely put them on and it would be about $250-$300. I'm going to order the stripes today and hopefully get them installed in the next week or so. Guess I should have called there first!

Hahaha... I haven't been around here all that much. That would require me to look for the local section!

Color me embarrassed. :headbang:

Unfortunately I won't be able to do that. I'm in VA and the car is in NY. My buddy spotted this car for me and it just so happens I am going to be up there this weekend for a funeral service.

Essentially the stars just kind of lined up on this one...
Probably too late in the game, but they may have been able to add them prior to delivery. You may want to check still and you can pick it up exactly the way you want it. Good call on the stripes though, they do set the black car off nicely. I'm going to keep my main black stripe, but going to switch out the flanking side pinstripes from black to silver in the near future. Make it yours man!

Didn’t you mention this in post #13? :giggle:

I finally found a GT Premium to replace my 15 that a tree branch fell on and totalled. I wasn't real keen on it at first because it was black with the Black accent package (which is monotone as hell) but then I came across this and thought OK, That breaks it up a bit and I like it a lot:

Now before anyone says it, YES, I realize that's a shelby anfd I'm not going to have the cool hood and fenders. I Totally dig the Carbon Fiber stripes with the red on the outer edges though.

The question I have is... Who installs this? Do I just go to a body shop, a place that does car wraps or..... What?

I'm picking it Up on Friday and I am totally STOKED to be getting back in the Driver's seat after 2 months without mine. Can't wait to get it all striped up!
Any auto graphics shop can handle this
