I finally found a GT Premium to replace my 15 that a tree branch fell on and totalled. I wasn't real keen on it at first because it was black with the Black accent package (which is monotone as hell) but then I came across this and thought OK, That breaks it up a bit and I like it a lot:

Now before anyone says it, YES, I realize that's a shelby anfd I'm not going to have the cool hood and fenders. I Totally dig the Carbon Fiber stripes with the red on the outer edges though.

The question I have is... Who installs this? Do I just go to a body shop, a place that does car wraps or..... What?

I'm picking it Up on Friday and I am totally STOKED to be getting back in the Driver's seat after 2 months without mine. Can't wait to get it all striped up!

Look around online for anyone that does automotive vinyl installs near you, try to find one that has done stripe installs and custom stuff not just advertiser or company vehicle wraps. And I would see if the company you linked will sell you a pre cut kit or a roll of their carbon fiber print, that looks way better than the other gross textured carbon style vinyl ive seen.

That was the one that sealed the deal for sure. I'm totally in love with it! I just emailed that place to see if they would sell the stripes to me so a local installed could put them on.

it’s just difficult to find shops that specialize in automotive customization stuff anywhere. Most places that do the full company/advertised wraps, police stuff, and even like storefront or billboard vinyl typically will do it. I’ve had design work done from a few different places now no issue. It’s all the same to them.

Most vinyl install shops won't install or warrenty other companies vinyl. Even if it's the same vinyl they use. They want to sell you the vinyl, and do the install. So if you run into that issue don't fret, just keep calling around. Install prices are pretty pricey though.

If it's a kit you can also diy, not difficult just time consuming first go around. It'll look great though, and congrats on the new ride again.

Thanks man, I'm so excited to pick it up on Friday. As for the striping.... I'm too impatient to do it myself. I'll totally mess it up.

nice ride, another possible option. I called a couple of body shops and one pointed me to a guy they have do all their vinyl. He has a small town custom sign shop and charged me $150. did a good job and I watched him and learned a lot.

Sometimes driving to Richmond is cheaper and worth it.

Not sure how far you're from Rockville, MD but these guys have great reviews and do nice work too.

Might be a silly question, but what about the dealership you are buying your car from? They likely have a body/paint shop and probably can do stripes as well. Maybe they'll swing you a deal.

Unfortunately I won't be able to do that. I'm in VA and the car is in NY. My buddy spotted this car for me and it just so happens I am going to be up there this weekend for a funeral service.

Essentially the stars just kind of lined up on this one...

Just got word back from the company that did the shelby with the CF and red stripe. They want $350 for the kit. Covers front to back bumper and everything in-between.

I'm signing off on the paperwork this morning and as soon as the ink is dry I'll be placing my order.
