Yeah that’s tough to swallow. Do you need both kidneys? Not to sound like a salesman but you would freaking love this car.
I love my car now. Just want the trans and diffy cooler from the Mach. I have no issues with my MT82 D4 just hate the ratios for 3rd and 4th. Over a 1500 ROM drop from 2nd to 3Rd.

trans is about 3 grand. labor another 1k. the diff cooler is 500 in parts. box the rads and if you want to put in a separate oil-cooler you can do that very cheaply.
Yea if I keep the car long turn this is what I am going to do, at least the tranny.

You bought a car you wanted....more power to you sir! Go enjoy the hell out of it!

I don't know why I keep coming back to this forum (yes I do, it's very entertaining). It's full of misinformation, immaturity, hard parker bros, and an infinite number of "will these wheels fit" threads.
Don't forget the blown engine and tick threads.. :giggle:

4.09’s fix that 3rd gear ratio problem! By far my favorite mod on the 2018.

yeah but 1st gear is already too short with 3.73 gears. I'd rather change the trans internals - pity nobody makes a D5 gearset that can be swapped into the 18+ housing, or do they?

Last night I was fooling around with clutchless (not even double-clutch) up and down-shifts.

Not really. That just moves the 1500 rpm drop-off to a lower speed range. Shifting at the original speed would make the rpm drop even bigger (maybe 1750)

While I respect your opinions I beg to differ… total cost for gears plus install was $600 because I did everything but set up the gears myself. First was good for starting on hills and for starts off the line. Steep but not unusable. I started out in 2nd on flat areas. But the acceleration improvement in 2nd and especially 3rd was great. I test drove a 2020 PP2 last May and the first thing I noticed was how slow it was compared to my car. Only way I wouldn’t recommend 4.09’s without more research would be guys looking for 1/4 mile times because some have reported needing to make one extra shift, or if your main goal is gas mileage at highway speeds. Already researching 4.09’s for the Mach 1.

Yes it was, but to add $20k in debt for a car not that far off what I already have the way it is setup.
Dave, face it, you do not want a Mach 1 for what it is. You are just looking at its parts. Shogun is right. Keep what you have and add the parts you want. You already know that your car will never be a Mach 1 but it will certainly perform like one.

I do like the idea of a Mach 1, a factory put together car. Just not enough to go further into debt. I mean really, how much different will the car be.

Mike 4.09s will be difficult as it will require a tune.

Yea, I felt it does. However, the gearing even with the 4.09s don't equal the torque multiplication of a Tremec with 3.73s. You still have to shift into 4th with 3.73's if you are launching the car properly. Max speed with 3.73's and 27.1" tire is still 112.64mph.

I feel 1st is still to tall with the 3.73s, I mean 50mph in 1st gear. The 4.09s only drop it to 45mph with a 27.1" tall tire (295/35/19).

Dave's complaint is that gears 2, 3, and 4 in the MT82D4 are spaced too far apart (2.10/1.42/1.00), especially that huge step between 2 and 3. The TR-3160 fits gears 2, 3, 4, and 5 into almost the same range (2.23/1.61/1.24/1.00). Axle gearing can't change transmission gear spacing.

Peakier engines are better matched to close-ratio gearboxes.
