Ooof, honestly this is one of the ugliest cars Ford has made in a long time to me. The whole proportions with huge headlights which are nearly as big as the grille and the big plastic lower bumper look like a funny cartoon version of a F150

I like everything but the front end. 2.5L hybrid that gets 40 mpg? Guess they're going after the Tacoma crowd. Also wonder how much legroom there is up front?

You probably could swap the Bronco Sport nose.

Agree, 2 doors with a longer bed, and nicer front end would be great.

Good that you can get it w/ the 2.0, but I'm surprised they didn't put the 1.5 in it, since it's basically an Escape-based p/u.

It seems more geared toward millenials rather than trades(wo)men.

Emo chicks dig it.
I really dont think that is the case. Ford sold how many millions of rangers from the 80s to the 00s? Was that a (wo)men's truck? Size wise this appears to be very close to the old ranger and similar trucks. I would say that 4,000lbs towing or 1,500lbs payload is more than half F-150 or Ranger buyers will ever use.

Maybe I am wrong, who knows. I guess time will tell but it seems like a hell of a bang for your buck pickup for those who don't want to tow 10,000lbs but need some capability.

I think they look really nice, we will see in person when they hit the lots.

The old 2 door Rangers were the work trucks for people who didn't need 1/2 tons (light duty stuff) - but those people need more bed and less door and no frills. The usual number of occupants in these trucks is one. The Maverick is a different beast.

They sold rangers in more than the reg cab and sold them in more than work truck spec. People used them for family duty and normal truck stuff. They worked just fine.

My dad had one, the family of four fit in it. It towed a boat and could haul plywood or whatever. Same with the Maverick, it can haul a family with a couple kids, tow a boat, and move mulch/wood/whatever.

Like I said time will tell if the Maverick will be successful or not.

I like it. But I would be more interested in the Bronco pick that’s rumored to be in development.

That thing shouldn't be referred to as a "truck"
