No, I am just giving my best estimate from what I've seen the process taking. I'd rather underpromise and over deliver. But Ford and the microchips keep making that harder to accomplish. :frown:
Zach, you're still able to make orders? I was talking to my sale guy here and he said Ford is not taking orders now.

Even the local dealer here was telling me a September/October time frame roughly on orders that were done a few weeks ago. This chip shortage situation is horrible.
My dad has a bmw x5m50i on order. Due to the chip situation they won’t build it with air suspension. Thankfully he doesn’t want the upgraded audio system but if you check that box it delays your order potentially to ā€˜22. And even with his current order they just contacted him and said he won’t be able to get wireless phone charging. The shortages are crazy and I feel for everyone that has a Mach 1 scheduled.

Yes, they are still taking orders. They are actually encouraging dealers to take retail orders because that will get vehicles scheduled.

I have a feeling production numbers will be low for the Mach 1. I'm thinking maybe under 6000 units total for the 2 model years.

Amen brotha! I hope you're right!
The Chip shortage just might make that happen.

Wow, I am SUPER TEMPTED to cancel my Mach 1 order and buy one of these... would even get to keep my favorite Ruby color! Both 10 mins from my house.

I drove a New 2020 GT350, same color. I know it would fly at the track provide endless laps of fun, exclusive engine and noise, really a unique and VERY fun car to drive, pleases all the senses. Granted I was only able to push it to 65%ish at the most. Excellent grip.

It was too harsh for my taste, its very track orientated. Roads in my area are generally terrible, despite highest gas tax in nation...go figure. Anyways I will stay away from that rant, let me compose myself again...

Yeah I was surprised how track focused it was, very aggressive feeling, hard suspension. It would beat me up everyday in traffic. I will be using it often as a daily driver so I scratched it off my list. Plus they were trying a dumb ADM on it. At $67,000ish new MSRP it was a lot of car for the money. Even if I could get it for MSRP, for me it was too harsh.

Everyone has different tolerance to "harshness", can't hurt to drive it and get a sense for yourself. The GT350 vs M1 debate is all over this site, hours of reading.

I keep hearing (like everyone else) that my build date keeps getting pushed out... I am in July now (from the first week of May) with delivery near the end of July. I live in a part of the world that gets winter so the driving season here for a Mustang of any flavour really ends in or around the end of October. So if the car doesn't arrive until August, 2 weeks to PPF, 3 weeks of break-in driving and I'll have less than a month of driving time. Plus the depreciating value of a MY21 near the end of the calendar year. It is a bummer and I have considered the used GT350 market (before I even ordered the M1) but I too will be driving it in the city and the roads here are not smooooth. But more scary than the ride quality is the unpredictability of the engine. That said this past weekend I saw a MY20 HEP roll past me at low speed and it was intoxicating.... UGH!

Zach, quick question. When my dealer states the following, what is your take?

"Your order has been placed in the order bank. Ford has not given the allocation for any segment ( not just mustang) at this time it is TBD."

In other words, what does the order being "placed in the order bank" really mean? This was about 2 weeks ago (btw).

Interesting - I ordered my Mach 1 on April 28th, and received an email the same day saying that my order was confirmed but crickets since. no VIN, no nothing...

I ordered on 4/27. My order was one of those that eventually switched to N/A. I got the email yesterday saying it was back to the week of August 16

And I’m out.

Just canceled my order with the dealership. Sales manager didn’t give me any hassle. They’re good people and I’m a regular customer.

He did say things are not expected to get better anytime soon.
