Update - the tether is barbed, and I was able to use a combination of picks to move it around, and some longer needle nose pliers to help squeeze it. the pointed piece of the barb broke, but the barb itself is fine. Back to part # as main question.
I'm looking to at a ZL1addons tow hook to my '21, which I use primarily for track events.
- I don't want to drill the OEM painted cover if I can help it. As far as removing it - I think I saw a photo that the tether is essentially a loop with a barb on the end? Can that be removed...
Yep, I remember you from the 2021 Mach 1 order thread. I ordered in April, and order cancelled in November after many delays. I found my car (fully loaded HP car) on FB Marketplace with 30 miles, after the guy owned it for 7 months. I flew to Las Vegas a few days later and drove it home.
I've got a FJG Mach 1 north of Pittsburgh (Wexford).
So far, I've seen a white and blue Mach 1. Today I ran into a gentleman with a Rapid Red GT500, was nice to catch up someone local.
I'll be at the Track Night in America next month @ PIRC, and again in May (PIRC & Nelson Ledges).
First oil change on the Mach 1 last night. Car will primarily be a track day / weekend car, and the car was delivered to the previous owner in April. I won't be driving it likely until April so I went ahead and did the change.
Car was high up on jack stands, with a big catch drain under it...
I brought my Mach 1 home a couple of weeks ago. tl;dr version - My 2021 FJG/Handling pack car was on order since April, cancelled in November by Ford. I found a matching options car with 30 miles on it total (10 miles by original owner) on Facebook Marketplace. FaceTime, some other...
Yes, after Ford assigns the initial (hopefully final :) ) schedule. According to blue oval forums, scheduling for 2022 Mustangs starts week of 1/3.

Check the front end alignment. I bet you'll find it's toe-out (front of tire from each other than rear of front tire). Factory specs are a bit of toe-in up front.
People on here seem to have luck with ones from Harbor Freight. Most metal focused guns have a much smaller shank. 1/4” is big in the rivet world and would be difficult to shear in AL. In plastic, much easier. I plan to get the one from HF that has big enough capacity.
There are 4 more bolts (8 total, 4 stay without splitter) and 21 rivets.
I ordered these rivets - https://www.fastener.zone/products/auveco-13751-1274-ford-w704342-s300 We'll see if they are correct. Rivet gun - need a bigger one, as I think I read these are 1/4" shank. Harbor Freight...
I can't confirm, but I'd guess so. You need a rivet gun to install the rivets, so they're one-time use. To remove them, I think you would use a punch on the center of the plastic rivet to drive it through.
Hi folks,
One thing missing on my "new" (see other "Got it!" thread) is the shorter bolts when I remove the gurney flap. I removed it for the ride home (definite MPG change), but left the holes open.
Anyone have the size? I saw part #s for a kit from Ford, but I'd probably look at getting...
I ordered a Mach 1 in April - 700A, FJG, Tremec, fully loaded minus Nav. My date was moved out and out, and finally cancelled a few weeks ago. However, a friend with a Mach 1 has been watching, and sent me a used one last week.
With 30.5 miles on it, seats still in the wrapper, and 10 miles...
