Cellphone? What are you, a millennial? That belongs in your pocket. Sunglasses go on your face. If you need to store them in the car, put them in a case, and put that case in one of the many storage compartments.

Mildly surprised to hear you own pants :giggle:
Why are you assuming they aren't rentals?

I have one of each and post on both forums. They’re pretty similar. Both forums have members who rave about how bad Camaros/Mustangs are and both have members who love American muscle cars in general and for whatever reasons prefer the one they’re in.
If you have both and you like them both, honestly that’s awesome.

I respect you much more than the people that feel the need to tell us they sold their Mustang for Camaro, civic or GLC300, and how awesome it is.

I mean it’s cool they are happy, but what is the end goal? Do they think they are gonna cause a mass exodus off M6g, like we are gonna run out and trade in our cars? :cwl: You would have a better chance bringing my Grams back from the dead.

There’s not many cars out there that can match the heritage of the Mustang, and even fewer look better than the S550. (IMO)

And dare I say that perhaps the Camaro would not even exist if It wasn’t for Lee Iacocca, Ford and the Mustang project..

The 2011 Convertible RS (not my choice) was enjoyable enough, but that roof was a complete pain in the ass. Multiple issues from the get-go, and a lot of time in the shop. One complete canvas replacement, which kicked off a host of other issues with the roof structure. Noisy as hell, rattle rattle rattle. Interior plastics were CHEAP and scratched easily, and that leather barely qualified as leather.....but the Mustang has that too. Blind spots were monstrous. Also a transmission fluid leak (cooler line fitting at the transmission) about 200 miles into ownership. Didn't learn about the timing chain issues with the 3.6 until a couple years in, so I was hyper-vigilant about oil changes to keep that at bay. When everything was working, it was a fun car with a sweet exhaust bark. But I'd never buy another one. The Mustang trumps it in every way except the exhaust note. This convertible top is pure bliss in comparison, and no troubles with anything so far.

Yup, I've always seen the Camaro as the also-ran Pony car. Both of them are just also-ran Fishy cars
MEH, I see it as, the only reason both pony cars became as good as they did, have.
I mean if you look at a low mileage, clean 1979 Mustang, and a 1979 or 82 Camaro. Todays cars are light years better in every way, Only thing I wish is todays pony cars could be had without all the nanny control crap, or a way to shut it off and keep it off, without having to go into the PCM, and BCM. and program them out/off.
Part of why a bunch of these cars are on you tube out of control, is a decade of vehicles with big brother nanny, helping the driver, and the driver never getting car control skills because of it, so when they get out of shape they have no idea what to do, and then the nanny crap fights you.
If I am giving the vehicle a touch of over steer, I rather the cars brains not trying to stop it/me. when I have already committed to an apex line, or just a turn with the rear hanging out. and it doing all it can to stop that and gain traction. causing a bunch of issues.

The only thing I miss about the old iron is the weight advantage. Also keep hearing on how big the S550 is, actually it's not that much bigger than the 69.

1969 Mustang:
Wheelbase 108 in
Length 183.6 in
Width 70.9 in
Height 51.6 in
Curb weight 2,758 lb (Base 6 cylinder)

2017 Mustang GT:
Wheel Base 107.1 in
Length 188.3 in
Width 75.4 in
Height 54.4 in
Curb Weight 3705 lbs (5.0L coyote V8)

Damn advances in safety, convenience, and comfort!
Well there is that. Got mine to a hair over (or under.. can't remember) 3500# . That's as far as I'm gonna go. Not a fan of tin cans haha.

it would be easier, cheaper, and effective to just put spikes on both crash bars and a nifty 5" version in the middle of the steering wheel.

I just did a race school in a brand new Camaro 1LE, and a ZL1. I currently track a 2019 Mustang GT PP2 with Recaro's and have added a diff cooler and a Ford Performance Tune.
The Camaro has an unnatural drivers seat sitting when you have a helmet on and your neck is pushed forward a couple of inches, so I had to play with the seat rake to get a suitable seating but it still bothered my neck. The Recaro's are more comfortable with a helmet on.
The shifter for the 6 speed was a lot sloppier than the stock one in the PP2.
The electronics in the Camaro does take some getting used to, especially traction control.
The brakes did not work as well as the Brembo's on the Mustang.
The tires on the Camaro were smaller than the PP2 but the rubber was those new F1 Goodyears and offered plenty of grip.
There is more power in my PP2, especially low end torque.
The ZL1 has a monster engine with torque converter paddle shifters and a little lag, but it is very quick on acceleration.
One huge difference between the cars is the suspension. When you put the PP2 in sport or track only mode, the suspension adjusts to incrementally harder settings, and is better on the track. I have tried my best to be objective here, but I am happy I chose the PP2 over the Camaro.

agreed. I'm going to look at flipping the rest around. MAJOR gaff by GM interior design team!
Sounds like the 1LE was factory tune which gets noticeably breathless and doesn't pull clean. Neither did the Coyote. Unleashed Tuning to the rescue on both fronts.

Did you play with the available 4 sub-modes under Sport on the SS?

If he drove a 1LE then Track is where his sub modes would be and there are more than 4 of them. The 1LE comes with Recaros so not sure why he said the Recaros were more comfortable given both cars have them.

The only Mustang with comparable brakes to a 1LE is a GT500 so that comment and the others, makes me wonder if it was the SS, the same for the tires. A 1LE comes with 285/30/20 in front and 305/30/20 in back. I am unaware of any new stock Mustang with bigger tires, so frankly I don’t find Porsche Dudes comment credible.

right, Sport has just the 2 sub-modes... Anyway the SS/1LE is directly comparable to the GT350 brakes, not the 500. I run 19" and soon 18" wheels on the 1LE. 20" is just stupid.

What I meant is that I have 305/30 / 19 square set up. It makes a difference turning in at speed. My Brembo's do bite better on threshold braking.
