Per the Ford recall site, my car isn't affected. To be on the safe side, however, I'm gonna do the "oil prime" procedure and re-check the position before I officially call it good.

Second time I’ve seen this comment. If your car doesn’t show in the Ford recall site, does it means this car is not affected for real? Do they have a list of VIN that it’s 100% trustworthy? I don’t know, just in case check it by yourself.

I looked up my VIN thru the posted link and my car was not listed. Had a small mirror in my tool set, checked it, looks likes all the pictures posted of "open" ones (I can the see the notches). I guess I'm good. 🤞

Hi all
I received a message through the FordPass app notifying FSA 21B26; checked my VIN in the "recalls" website where it also showed up.. So I decided to buy a basic dental tool kit ($8usd) that comes with a small mirror at CVS. At first sight I wasn´t sure but after oil-prime procedure.. I can say I am good. However next week I will visit a dealer to get it inspected by them and make 100% sure.

Lesson: We should not just trust Ford notifications or recalls by checking VIN number. I encourage everyone to do the inspection.. mine was notified and listed; to my knowledge tensioner is activated.

good luck!

Even though my 2019 has a build date of 2/27/19, and the vin# shows no recalls, I checked mine anyway. I see no groove, even after turning the crankcase. But I see the the tensioner piston, and the upper(smaller) part is different than the pics everyone is showing. The upper part looks much smaller in diameter than what everyone elses looks like. Could they have changed the design at the end on 2019 for the 2020 years? I see the pieces somewhat extended, but it certainly is different. And if I call my local dealer and ask, I'm sure they'll tell me that my car is not part of the potential recall.
Should I worry, or just think they changed the tensioner piston at the end of 2019, and that is what's creating the problems for the 2020 cars?

I doubled checked again, and without a doubt, mine is not activated. You can't see any groove in the first pic(mine), and even the black chain guide moves easily. I even looked at someone else's 2019 for comparison, and there tensioner was definitely activated.
Now I'll have to call Ford and see what happens with a car vin# that's not listed in the range of cars designated.

Tough to get a pic in focus especially with an iPhone, but got a couple. L0176 looks good so far. Build date June 23rd - second of the day. Builder Adam Stier.

Checked mine anyways even after the VIN check said it was OK. Looks just like your pics. Jeff Hamblin was my builder.
