Looking at a 2017 Mustang GT. The Carfax report reads:

  • COVERAGE
Anyone know what this means?

Carfax is FULL OF SHIT. You cannot trust anything they say. Do a Google search.

They reported my perfect condition 2015 C7 Z51 2LT Corvette as having rear damage. My insurance company wrote them a letter saying my car had never been damaged. They wouldn't remove it. They wouldn't tell me who reported it as that's confidential information. They told me to have the body shop that did the work write them a letter. You see the Catch 22 here?

Car Dealers submit false reports to carfax to reduce the trade in value of vehicles.

You cannot trust Carfax.

Follow up question - The car has a McLeod RST clutch and a McLeod Lightened flywheel. I've read that the McLeod clutches can blow the MT-82, how true do you know this to be?

This is exactly what you’re seeking:
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10143114-9999.pdf

Those type of letters are to fix/repair known issues with a Ford product (as seen in the above link). The repair is done by Ford with no cost to the consumer. Sometimes these events are done to in-stock new car inventory and the car can’t be sold until the repair was completed.

it’s nothing to worry about and is a normal action.
