Thats because CFM and boost pressure is different. 15psi from a small blower is different than 15psi from a large blower.
Yeah I was basically maxing that blower our almost. Reading through the comments you’re one of the reasons I decided to keep a p1X instead of going D1X since I’m not planning on building the motor. If it blows I’ll most likely buy another stock shortblock for $1800.

P1x turned up will be real fast. Simple and fast.

Well I was selling my P1x because it has helical gears. It’s just too quiet for me. So I bought a d1x with straight cut gears since it was only $200 more than the p1X.

After reading through this forum I called & canceled the order for the D1x & bought another p1X. I got straight cut gears this time. That’s the only reason I didn’t like the blower.

I didn’t like how everyone was saying you’ll lose low to mid range with the d1x. Seems like you have to run a lot more boost with it also. I’m making 800 rwhp on 13 psi now.

Perfomance wise it was perfect! I’m still on stock motor & I’m not planning on trying to run 8’s. As long as the car runs mid 9’s I’m fine with that & the P1x does that without a problem.
The gears don’t make the blower any louder they just make it so that you don’t hear the gears rattle like a box of rocks. Unless you just really want to make your blower rattle you waisted your money

It does make it louder, you can’t even hear my blower it’s so quiet. You can actually hear straight cut gear blowers at idle. my Paxton setup was a lot louder. One of the reasons I like centri blower are for the sounds they make & BOV’s sounds also.

Here is a video of my car. Too damn quiet

It doesn’t have anything to do with the gears. The gear cut is only for the noise that the gears make. Do your homework

Regardless what you’re saying a head unit with straight cut gears is loud vs a blower with helical gears. No need for homework. I know what I want & it’s straight cut gears so I can hear the blower.

You’re trying to get technical & know damn well what I mean. Straight cut gears (loud) vs helical (quiet)!

It’s your money burn in for all I care. But it will be just as loud. I have the p1x with straight cut gears. Hell I would have traded you

If you are in the 800whp range you should start looking for a larger intercooler. I have a stage2 I will sell

I sold my blower for a good price. Besides the money isn’t a issue for me man. Those few hundred is worth selling it & buying another one for me.

i doesn’t look like a stage2 in the video but anyway I don’t understand why you refuse to listen to someone just trying to help you. If you did your homework you would find that what I’m saying is truth. If you want it louder at idle bring your idle up a couple hundred rpm

All I’m saying it’s a difference from the sound of helical & straight cut gears. Maybe you’re one of the few that can’t hear the difference between the two I’m not sure lol. It’s not just the idle I prefer straight cut sound bro.

Straight cut (loud)

Helical (quiet)

There is no question, the gear box sound is louder with straight cut gears.

Agreed. Not sure why anyone would say there isn't.
Man I give up. I don’t see how he can’t hear the difference between the two. It basically is the same with Vortech/Paxton head units. They brung back the Heritage gears (straight cut) for people who like loud blowers.
