No drone as such also the beauty with active exhaust is you can flip to quiet mode and even at 80mph you will not hear anything.

In quiet mode even with Borla ATAK there is no drone
You've hard copy proof of this on a '21 Mach 1 ? Also, if one has the factory active exhaust, why in the hell waste good money on an aftermarket system ?

You change to an aftermarket system to get a different tone and/or louder volume. Having a aftermarket setup that do support active exhaust you can control the volume in the same way as with the OEM setup. You just transfer over the actuators you have on the OEM-setup to the aftermarket one (if it supports it). I mentioned Borla ATAK in this as a reference, as the ATAK is one of the loudest catback-systems you can get and even with that there is no drone.

Adding an X or H-pipe will not add to any drone it will make the tone louder in case of H-pipe and with the X-setup it will make raspier.

I am almost certaint that on the Mach 1 it will be the same as for any other S550 mustang with regards how to it will be behave, specially the ones with active exhaust.

The H-pipe setup will be the first thing I do if I do purchase the M1

I have had a GT with active exhaust and did run it with the OEM setup, with H-pipe, with X-pipe and with Borla ATAK

Best thing an x/h-pipe does is shed the weight of the factory suitcase. This is assuming the Mach1 has the same/similar size resonator.
yeah it seemed to be the same/similar

Exactly ! It is not some magic elixir that produces power. I for one, have no use for any of that. David Borla is wealthy enough without my adding to his wallet. The car runs fine as is. Ford's engineering team is quite good at extracting the maximum from the powertrain that is street legal. Unless one is tracking the car, why waste the money ?

For the sound and weight savings really. The car does feel a little freer breathing according to my butt dyno
to me as well! And mine is very hairy

For the money you guys can get an h/x-pipe for in US it would be a no-brainer for me

Was the difference in sound pretty noticeable? I haven’t heard a resonator delete in person so it’s hard to tell how much louder it is

Do you have exhaust shops in the area? If shipping one made in the states is ridiculous, maybe consider getting a custom mid-pipe welded in? I know here it isn't that expensive to get done.
I got mine "locally" from Steeda in UK but I think at that point it was double the price +shipping compared to US. I think it was 100 USD or so for the Steeda one back then

Labor is expensive in Sweden so I think it would have been more expensive to have a custom one welded in.

Appreciably louder, yes. Especially on a cold start/at high RPM's. It also sounds more "racecar" to my ear, which is what people refer to as "rasp". It's still plenty throaty and deep in the lower RPM's. It just gets up and howls the way a Coyote should up top. The stock axleback is much better on the 3rd gen cars. My friend's '16 GT was too quiet stock. I haven't felt the need (yet) to put something more aggressive on.
Thanks! I think I’m going to order the corsa double x pipe. I’ve never been bothered by the rasp so if it increases the volume of the exhaust I’m sure I’ll like it.

I considered that one, but couldn't find a sound clip that justified the price tag. Everything I heard it sounded like any other x-pipe.
I admit I had some sticker shock when I saw the price for what is a pretty simple section of exhaust. At that price it better fit perfectly!

I’ve had Borla and Corsa catback exhaust with a Borla X pipe. The Borla droned bad at 60 mph. I bought the Corsa cat back leaving the X pipe installed and no drone at all. I don’t think any X or H pipe will cause drone, it’s the system.

My dealer surprised me with some options about Handling Package in Europe - splitter and spoiler should be possible (mentioned wing in carbon even for 850 €), wider wheels and tyres too (mentioned PP2 wheels which I like more than bird's nest, I think). If dealer says it's possible then there should be no legal issues, yay. Wonder if they could give it HP calibration too. Just food for thought now, probably won't happen this year, wanna test the car as is first during summer.
