You're right. I can sell my car but I can't resell the food and beer that I spent more on than my education. I definitely should be reimbursed whatever the difference is between what I paid for that food and beer and the value of the shit and piss it produced. You could always sell that POS and buy yourself a civic if you can't afford your car.
Students can't resell a student loan they owe.
You keep asking for a bailout... I know it is difficult to make ends meet with so many kids and a hefty car payment.Btw.. I have (7) kids, (2) out of college, (2) in at the moment and (3) to go! I’m not looking for anyone to bail me out! I have been working since I was 11. I’m 57! Get a grip on what you want in life and pay for it! And I still have a 2020 GT350R HERITAGE IN MY GARAGE!![]()
Don't disagree with you... but that does not fix the current situation that both parties seem to believe is an issue.Maybe they shouldn't get in over their head with a huge amounts of loan then?
I get college is stupid expensive, but man, if you sign the dotted line, you own it. You HAVE to know what you're getting into before getting into it.
Hello; I get you argue for student loan debt forgiveness and have your reasons. Put that aside for a time. Lets stay on the issues of a college education needing to be fixed for a post or two.Don't disagree with you... but that does not fix the current situation that both parties seem to believe is an issue.
Nor does it fix the situation for new students arriving to schools this summer.
Every third post can be the same "screw them, they shouldn't have signed" since that does not actually fix anything. What is the solution, if you believe there is an issue?
If you don't believe there is an issue, not really a lot of constructive comments you can have. Dunno... just common sense.
Colleges are nothing but businesses. Same as hospitals and any other institutions, in my opinion. Again, that's my opinion. It's not about making people smarter, it's about collecting the dollar bills. Kids have to have someone REALLY explain to them how much and how long their loans are going to last. I blame the parents a lot. They should be more involved with their kid's choices when it comes to spending that amount of money.Don't disagree with you... but that does not fix the current situation that both parties seem to believe is an issue.

geezus man, were you a med student? It should be well within everyone's reach to pay off student loans in 3-5 years. More than that the debt must be at eyewatering levels.and if I didn't have the student loans I have been paying on for the last 14 or so years
Hello; I think it took ten years or so for me to pay mine off.geezus man, were you a med student? It should be well within everyone's reach to pay off student loans in 3-5 years. More than that the debt must be at eyewatering levels.
Hello; This is one aspect seldom considered in this discussion. Those who somehow manage to pay for college expenses without having to borrow. A possible come back from the pro forgiveness side of the issue might be that those who do not have to borrow must be wealthy.I can't tell you how many thousands I spent on my kids college education, so they didn't have student loans. There are many parents who have done the same.
