Pirelli tires now on PP1 mustangs?

I watched a few youtube videos showing the 2021 mustang gt pp1 and they have Pirelli tires on them instead of Michelin. Is that a new change for the performance pack this year???

Those manufacturers use bespoke tires tailored for them. The tires on the PP1 is not the same tire that are on these other cars.

The “hate” is based on actual usage. Virtually everyone on here that had them found them to be inadequate.

That said I have the A/S versions and find them sufficient for what I need from them. When the time comes I’ll be switching to Michelin A/S 4‘s.

Because P-Zeros on 15-17 weren't that great, inferior to PSS / PS4.

P Zero Nero on non-PP Mustang was quite terrible - I was able to spin in in 3rd gear at coldish temperatures, something that decent A/S tire shouldn't do.

The PZeros are a total POS. When I switched to my Firehawks, it was a huge difference.

So where would you buy these brand specific versions of the Pirellis? The only time I have seen this is with tires with the N spec p on them (Porsche).

I am surprised someone actually questions it - Billy Johnson wrote an article about "custom" Sport Cup 2s for GT500 if I remember correctly. Tire Rack has whole bunch of different P Zero versions.

It is, the PP1 price increased to $6,295 and Ford went to a "W" speed tire. Guess Michelin wanted too much money to continue as OE tire ...
