the 'R' phonetic doesn't exist. It's an 'L' or an 'ah' like open your mouth and say 'ah' at the doctor's office.
So 'camaro' would be pronounced 'kah mah lo'. They don't have a 'rah' like Egyption sun god. they have La like lollipop.

I never drove the Camaro but honestly I’m a Ford man anyway. I like the looks of the GT500 more than the Camaro but I wish that would have put that brake vent in the front fender like on the GT350. I had a 2018 350 with only 5,000 miles on it ruined in flood waters while parked in my garage. I replaced it with the 500. The extra power and the DCT are extremely thrilling. I am 6 feet tall and at 200 pounds I find the Recaro seats very comfortable even on a long trip.
If you drive a muscle car just enjoy it whatever the brand.

I'd take a Smokey & the Bandit T/A (or similar vintage Camaro) over a '78 Mustang II any day of the week.
Dad had this same 1979 Trans Am T/A W72 package he bought from owner of Mother’s Speed Shop. Had a few tweaks to make more power (carb, exhaust, timing bump). Best running 1979 car out there for sure in 1981. Car had 8000 miles and T-tops. Like to have that one back...

I have owned a bunch of Fords, Chevys and MOPARS. I have no brand loyalty. I do stay away from German cars though for various reasons. I bought my Camaro SS on a whim when shopping for a C7 Corvette. It was on the showroom floor with the top down and when they fired it up to take it outside for a test drive I knew I was going to buy it. It doesn't sound as good as the Ford V8's but pretty good. It was comfortable and since it was a 2SS Fifty Anniversary Edition had a distinctive front end that I really like better than a Mustang. Of course looks are subjective. I have my share of issues with it. The infamous A8 shutter where they flush the trans 3 times. Had that done twice each time with a different fluid. My remote sensor located in the car went bad and the car would not start. Several recalls but I still like the car a lot. I know the Mustang also has some issues but probably not as many as I have had. It comes down to what you like in either car. Camaro has more torque giving you the impression of being faster than the Mustang GT which is what I prefer. The thing with a GM car is you better get an extended warranty which I did. For a family car it's Honda, Toyota and Hyundai (long warranty).

I test drove that exact car (obviously differnt one) before I bought mine. The stick is like butter. lacked the A10 quickness but really easy driving car. Much more of a daily than what I have.

I don't think that'll happen. There's a whole scene that revolves around collecting, restoring, and auctioning these cars. Once they started fetching 6-figure sums at auction (up into the 7's), the speculators got into it. Now everyone thinks their rolling chassis is worth a million dollars once "restored". I think that alone will unfortunately keep the prices high.
The generation that took those prices so high will eventually no longer be around to create that crazy market imo. The future money earners (10-20 years out) will not give a poop about those cars. X plus generations forward interest will dwindle imo regardless of the present perceived value. We will see...? ;).

We will see indeed. I'm 32 and my favorite year is 68. The Mustang is such an icon, that even non-car people recognize them. You can't take that away, even if the original target market dies off.
Agreed, but are you going to pay 100k plus for rare option 68 original mustang....??

Not every 32 year old is a old car fan.

if Mecum TV is any indication people spending big money are high 40's to 50-65yrs old. 10 more years and that cohort will be looking at different priorities and trying to offload. Current 30-something aren't into cars at that kind of price point if for no other reason they have zilch association with the 'relics' of the time period. I figure you have to be at least 10 years old and the cars have to be readily available in your life during that time to have any kind of attachment to them.

I can't see myself paying that much for any car. Spending in total though is a possibility. I could see a project build some day. If not an original, a restomod, or kit car.
Dude, I’m pushing 50 and my 18 would crush everything performance wise back then. My point was the trend of spending was the people who lived in that era and drove those cars during that era. Relive the “magic years” for the money makers. For every generation those years just move forward. So....yes, the late 90’s forward shit will get hot and already is. ;).

Eclipses/3000 GT/300 ZX/Lancer Evolution/LT4 vettes/SRT4/ etc etc...

That actually already happened in some sectors. In constant money, the 50's-60's Corvette market has already been up and then dropped. I think the same for early Mustang/pony/muscle cars.

You're seeing dummies like me buy Fox bodies or Trans-Am's or whatever because that's what we wanted in high school and we can finally afford the damned things. I drove a 60's Mustang in the late 80's. I have zero inclination to get another one. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
