What should I expect to pay to pay to have the calipers painted?

Not much, maybe $150 or so for all the prep.

But I wouldn't paint them, I would get them powedercoated for not much more. Unless you want to do them on the car and not take them off.

Thanks - I just has a shop quote me $800 to paint. I feel that price was stealing my pants and underwear! lol

Fuck that noise, ridiculous. It's like 4 cans of paint ($40) and a few hours of labor.

I assume this is just for the 2 fronts, I'd expect to pay more for all 4.

I cannot stand G2. G2 does not set or cure properly if you're in the humidity of the south.

I had mine professionally painted for about $350. Mine was a bit expensive because I had them color matched and Ford is the only one with the right Orange Fury color.

Negative..there is a paint company named paint scratch..they have the correct oem paint in a can or could pre mix it for a gun. I painted quite a few parts with there fury orange..excellent. ..they are not expensive either ...as for for the g2 paint system..never had a problem using in California. Until they try to ban it for some reason lol

Also, nice job on the paint, but the pins and bolts for the caliper were painted. Also painted over the bleeder nipple and rubber cap.

That paint is going to get destroyed when you do a pad change.

I had all kinds of issues with G2 on my dads car in AZ. Didn’t want to cover for crap and had to do like 5 coats to get it to look decent.

I’ve done my cars with Duplicilor brush on kits and they have worked great.

$800 is a rip off

VHT rattle can. two can system, color then clear. The most important part is the prep. I painted mine a little a month after I got the car and almost 2.5 years later they show no sign of degrading. The color of mine is Copper with clear and a ebay Brembo decal

Was your quote including labor for removing the calipers from the car, painting them, and re-installing them? I pulled mine off and had them powder coated, cost me $350. I did the G2 paint first, and didn’t like the results. Search caliper paint in the forums if you’re considering the G2, some people have had great results, others not so great.

Did both the mustang and camaro with the g2 system ..definitely takes like 5 coats and can't be messed with for 24 hours to get the best results

Did you even read my post? I specified that it didn't hold up in the humidity of the south. You're in California with a completely different climate. 100F with 100% humidity in Houston definitely makes a difference in how things cure.

Also, the website you linked has a pint at $100. That's probably enough for a few coats for all 4 calipers, then it needs to be sealed and treated with high-temp clear. Plus with the labor, $350 ain't bad bub. I don't see how you're saving a ton of money on your paint.

Yeah, some people think G2 is god's gift to paint. I've had much more success in the past with VHT if I was using a rattle can.

$350 for the powder coat sounds like a great deal. Did you have to rebuild them yourself? The cheapest powder coat I've ever been quoted has been $600.
