I would love to add those states to my cap as well, but personally would avoid Seattle. I've done 13 states in 15 months and 20K miles. Enjoy your ride!

If you have a stick car, Seattle traffic will make you hate life. Check out Mt Ranier if you can.

Head towards Galena then cross over the Mississippi river and follow the great river road up to Minneapolis. It's a beautiful drive.

Even now - with Covid? Hell, even So Cal Rush hour traffic has been easy.

To the OP - take the car around the BIG BLOCK that is known as the Olympic Peninsula (Ferry -> West->South->East->North and back to Seattle.)

And avoid CHAZ

Not that I would suggest it, or condone it, but these cars get great fuel mileage at 100.

If you don't have to go to Portland, I'd skip it and see Yellowstone and Glacier NPs instead.

Here is a sample of what you'll see :).

Definitely a possibility, but they may be closed due to C19.

I can't imagine deliberately going to Portland. Seems it's just a place to avoid, like Detroit.

My son lived there for 2 summers while interning for Intel. He liked it there. Even the Detroit area has it's cool stops, Like the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, and Moro's one of our favorite restaurants.

Dearborn and Allen Park have little to do with Detroit. Detroit is still a shit hole to be avoided.

If you're talking about the actual city of Portland (not the suburbs), it seems a rather nasty place, given what's been in the news recently.

We will pick things do do in each area, not stay in just that town. When people come to visit me they usually say Chicago, even though I'm 3 miles away from the city in a little town of 10,000. 5 minutes from the City, yet worlds apart.

Downtown isn't bad, but yeah, Detroit is a no go zone. Especially if you value your suspension. The airport isn't bad though, it's pretty far from the actual city.
