But what does that have to do with the CMCV? Or did I miss the context your are replying to?
To answer your question, I believe most tuners are still requesting they be locked out. I dont have an 18 intake, but seems that most that do report no issues when locked out.

No, they make the trans shift like a turbo 400 with all the springs removed and the plate drilled out.

I like a good firm fast shift but not bone-jarring.

Most people getting tunes either have standard transmissions or like the hard shifts. I'm 60 years old and want a fast smooth shift. I don't want the seat punching my kidneys or the car going sideways on the 1-2 shift in a corner.

So far even when telling the tuner to leave the trans alone, it changes the way it functions in a way I don't like.

I've either had a tune by or ridden in a car tuned by all the big names.
You might want to try 19 or 20 Mustang with the A10 with the stock tune. Supposedly they made Sport mode shifts quicker and firmer and you might prefer a stock tune. I thought the 6R80 stock tuning to shift lazy, but fairly smooth in most instances. Lund's tune shifts much more quickly and accurate and yes much harder, but to each his own. I have another tune from Lund with about 30% less shift pressure and it's pretty nice. In the end I miss the faster more direct shifts most times anyways.

Typically shifting gears in a corner with any decent throttle isn't the best idea, particularly from 1st to 2nd. And I mean you can't really expect Lund to have access to every single engine and transmission table in the tune. Sometimes you have to take some of the bad with the good I think.

I'm just concerned with mpg loss while cruising, I figured there would be no driveability problems or a lot of people wouldn't bother

Has anyone noticed a drop in mpg with city/hwy cruising with the lockouts? I was planning to just throw a procharger on but if there is no loss in mpg with the lockouts I may just throw a ported '18 on since it isn't very expensive (much cheaper than a GT350 mani too)

I worded that incorrectly. I meant I was planning to throw a procharger on and leave everything stock but if there is no drop in mpg I will throw a ported '18 mani on at the same time

No drop in mpg? I wonder why ford even has them

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but for a needs to be reliable daily, would going to a ported 2018 Intake Manifold (https://www.lethalperformance.com/1...d-ported-2018-mustang-gt-intake-manifold.html) offer any reliability issues compared to a stock 2018 intake manifold?
On a side note, are the performance gains not worth it, given the $200 price difference? And would a C&L Street intake have any issues lining up?
Thanks in advance!

I haven't had an issue with mine. I've had the 18 ported manifold on my car for a little over a year now. Most people say porting adds like 2-5 hp. I cant say its worth it or not but i just opted to do it so i didn't have to remove the manifold twice. There are some known intakes that can issue lining up. I have the 15-17 jlt and it does rub the hood a little but it works fine. I know @Bluemustang has tried the 18+ jlt and 18+ roush intakes. I know he ended up going back to the 15-17 jlt.

So I can't use my stock 15-17 cai? I might be able to find an '18 at the wreckers.

A ported is only worth 2-5hp?

Yes the stock air inlet will work , but most guys change it for a bigger one do to the tune needed for the intake . Just add a procharger and you don't have to worry about it .

I got about 2-3 mpg better with the 18+ manifold and LTH over the stock 15-17/OEM manifolds.

Pump 93 it gets anywhere from 23-25 on the highway and 15-18 city. This is a manual 3.73 car.
