but it would've been nice to see something truly unique in the Mach 1 besides pieces of this and that thrown in to make one really kick ass non shelby (it is kick ass, but not 'unique')
It certainly would have but as you pointed out Ford, from a corporate/financial point of view, doesn't really care much for our Mustang. We need to realize at this point the Mustang name is a brand tool. Instead of berating Ford for their shortcomings we should be grateful we are getting cars like the Bullitt and Mach 1. At least someone is listening up there.

i think the cohort at Ford who are still truly vested in the Mustang Program is fairly small and growing smaller with each retirement. It doesn’t neatly fit their “carbon neutral E branding mobility lifestyle” BS, and their executive base does not see us a corporate profit focus. Just my two cents, but I am grateful for the efforts of those at Ford who truly still care about our Pony car, they do a damn fine job. I’m already fretting what lies ahead for the next gen.[/QUOTE]

Keep in mind that the "E" programs are a very long way off from profitability. For Ford it's all about trucks and SUV's. Did you see how many options are available on the 21' F150?

I did Bikeman 315, reminded me of the order sheets from First Generation Mustangs, all kinds of goodies. It’s a great looking truck in my opinion, and I’m definitely looking at a 4x4 STX purchase in the next few years. I toured The KC truck plant a crew years back, amazing the scale of production for one single make. Glad to see some great drivetrains still in the truck.

You think we might see that new turbo hybrid in our Mustang’s?

I'd love that V8 with electric front wheel assist hybrid concept to come to fruition. normal V8 RWD until you really need to smoke that camaro's ass.

I’d like to think we will have multiple powertrains to choose from next gen on top of V8 and Ecoboost but that’s for another forum. Glad to see the Coyote is still around for the new truck. If they said it would deliver over 500 hp, I was going to lose my mind. Bronco reveal in 3 weeks. Good time to be a Ford fan.

I'll say this I understand ford needs to make money to still be a business. But after watching the F150 debut its clear to me where there heads are at. And that is where the most volume is at. F150 sells insanely and they have 8 million different option ect. Also look at how much detail they added to the new F150 lockable storage a million led lights to work at night seats that recline 180 to sleep and freaking vice point to cut woods ect with not to even touch about a built in generator that can run 8 fridges. Now look at what we got with the Mach 1. im not saying I don't like it. but clearly there was a strict time line and budget. ford can do amazing things and this mach 1 isn't one of them. We will need to look at the new f150 and see how much of that carries over to the bronco. in the mean time hopefully the redesign mustang will get as much love as the gt350 got when it debuted.
I’m wondering if some of the effort will go into the S650. We are at the point in the s550 where it’s too late for anything drastic to change.

I was really hoping that Ford stock would bounce after last night, but it hasn't yet.

we need to con the legions of RobinHood users to buy. They'll buy anything including Hertz and other guaranteed zero-value stocks.

hey man, that's where I'm playing around on the stocks too. I always come up with a good idea for a stock to dump into, but I get cold feet and wait. sure enough a week later it shoots up (I had one I was going to drop 5g's into. I decided not to, a week later it went up 1300%, that was just a few months ago). I mean to dump more into Ford about 2 months ago, it is up >15% since then.

As Flatrock said in his post. They did make the Coyote available in the new F150. So that's a good start.

Ford is talking about closing the last plant in Canada so there stock will be on ice for awhile. We will need to see when the bronco and mach e hit the streets to see any real improvement in there stock.
