Well, I may be in the same boat with 450 miles on the odometer. Guess I'll try to make contact with a Ford CSR before I contact the local dealer (who sucked with my '15 GT but hopefully this one gets the attention it deserves).

You will be dealing with the service dept. not the sales dept at any dealership of your choosing. This is warranty work and the buyback will be done through your CSR. Lot's of good info by Cobra Jet on how to run through the process. Patience is needed for sure. I didn't do the buyback but was fully compensated for expenses and with additional warranty.

Good luck!

Sorry, poor choice of words on my part; my local service department was less than impressive with my last Mustang. I'm not pushing for a buy back at the moment, we don't know what exactly happened yet (hopefully hear from them today).

If a new motor is required then opening a case with the CSR get’s everything expedited, it will take a while to get the call back, but stick with it. Read through this thread and read through the links, everything you need to know is there. Good luck!

Whose name is on these blown engines? Mine was built by Dennis Rigby. Over 7,000 miles and no issues. VERY structured break in for 1,500 miles. Since then, 6 or more track days and hard driving in the mountains. I was a little nervous at first when they shut the plant down and my car was on the assembly line. Worried they might forget something when the plant restarted. It's been 16 months and no issues.
