I go thru American collector. They will go by agreed apon value. I have my highly modded GT Insured for 36.
I can also recommend American Collector. I have a bunch of cars with them. You can put an “agreed value” on the car. You can also pick your deductable amount or not have one if you wish.

Haggerty will insure at whatever you think it’s worth. It’s conspired a Collectible. Insurance is cheap also.

Another vote for Hagerty but any of 3 or 4 companies than specialize in classic cars would be worthwhile as ALL will insure for agreed value. You can insure for more than its' worth and be assured in case of a total loss that you will get what you agreed. I have a Porsche insured for 5 grand more than I paid for it. Would not consider a basic insurance company as they will always low ball you on a pay out by saying your car has depreciated. Especially with the discrepancy between a Roush and a GT you are getting now and Hagerty would not be doing this.

Don't forget all insurance companies also take your mileage into consiideration. If you don't go with one of the insurance companies that allow declared value, your added Roush mods will most likely mean nothing to standard insurance companies.

Florida has the worse rates so going with any of these insurance companies will be insane!

Florida? I think Florida is a bargain. You should see how is in Massachusetts!

I am insurance adjuster and have written roush vehicles several times. Your policy will reflect a standard GT, just make sure you tell service to make a note on the policy that its a roush. When you have a loss, if the car were to be a total loss, they will only use other roush vehicles when searching comparables and determining actual cash value. You may need to remind the adjuster to do this depending on their experience. As long you're upfront with service about the type of car, then when it gets to a claim they will have to cover the damages. I did an 06 gt with a rs2 package, value changed almost 4k between standard Gt valuation and rs2.

Briebee, Dean:
Thanks for clarifying as I went off base as did others.
Good info from both posts. Good to hear from an adjuster. Talking with an adjuster is important so they completely understand. I had someone hit a Tacoma and had it repaired. Since I was focused on family matters I did not ask questions I needed to ask and found out that many aftermarket not Toyota parts were used to repair. When I asked the very reputable body shop they told me that insurance companies will ALWAYS go with the cheapest parts. Had I known I could have paid the difference and got OEM parts. Kinda offtrack but was a lesson for me to learn. Never being in an accident in 57 years I did not think to ask what type of part would be used..

Michigan has the highest insurance rates in the country and I live in one of the highest areas in that state. I have at fault a rear end accident and a speeding ticket on record and less than perfect credit. I pay $131 a month thru hagerty.

Hey all,

Have a super clean 2015 RS2 with Phase 2 blower kit I want to buy. 20k miles, car is ceramic wrapped and super well cared for. Negotiated price to $33k, but lenders don't recognize it as a Roush and will only lend me what they'd lend if it were an equivalent regular GT...$28k.

This isn't the end of the world as I can scratch some money together, but what sucks is that the insurance company has the same problem and will only consider it a $28k car so if God forbid something happened they'd short me $5k too!

Any ways to get around this, Roush owners?

PS - Would appreciate your thoughts on whether or not $33k would be a good deal. Negotiated that price a month ago when it was listed at $37,000, deal didn't go through because I ran into the above issue.

Now car is listed at $34000.

Think it's worth $33,000? Seems about $4,000 more than a super clean equivalent 2015 GT premium.

***21k miles
***Roush stage 2
***manual
***garage kept
***xpel clear wrap on front bumper and mirrors
***gtechniq ceramic coat on entire car
***phase 2 roush kit professionally installed, receipts to back it up
***FP X pipe
***SVE 350 wheels with Indy Firehawks, 325 on rear and 275 up front
***1 of 2 with this orange / blue color scheme.

‘I would offer 31 to 32 K. The car is well kept but 6 years old. Find a credit union like Pen Fed who lets anyone join and place at least 5K or 6 k down if you have to finance. This will get you a lower rate and make more sense. If you don’t have money to put down you might want to consider another 15 or 16 GT which are going for about 22k to 26k. To get the Roush name/features it costs a little more.

Any reputable insurance co will insure it for what it is worth. If you have a minor claim they will fix and repair with same Ford/Rousch parts. If you have a total loss they will pay current book value also more if you let them know of front you have installed any aftermarket parts you will be covered.

In think it’s a great car and the mileage is great, but it is out of warranty and 6 years old. The banks know this and temper there risk.

Good luck.

As it's been stated, it is a GT. I use Hagerty and recommend them too.
BTW, when it comes time to sell it, it will still be a modified GT. Nobody will give a shit what name is stickered all over the car or on the blower. VIN says GT, it's a GT.

I had the same problem with financing when I purchased my 15 RS3 a year ago. Forrtunately my trade value dropped the price of the car to the point where the financing went through. Not sure what other options you would have other then to get the price down to where financers will consider doing so (trade, down payment, negotiations, etc). In regards to insurance I have an agreed value on my car with Grundy. I used to use Hagerty but Grundy insures my car for the same value at half the price. Good luck with your pursuit.
