Test-drove a Bullitt today, and when I opened the hood to check the engine, I burned myself. The damn struts are a must, so the hell with the negatives. Ha ha. So which ones are better (or less worse) then? Ford, Redline, or Steeda? PICTURES would help :D.
JC, did read the 1st 75 posts? :)

They all pretty much look the same, they’re struts. Top 3 are Steeda, Redline, & Roush. FP and others after that. Pick the ones you like best. IMHO if you’re getting the Steeda deck lid pop up struts get their hood struts as well.

Guys, stop obsessing about mounting the washer hose. No mater what year or type of Strut you have the Upper Bracket has room to drill a small hole and add a zip tie to attach the washer hose line. This picture is a little grainy but you get the idea.
These are Red Lines on my 20 they were installed on my 2018, and now reside on my 2020 GT. As you can see the zip tie gets the job done, just allow for movement and you're done.

Always sucks to drop a tool or a bolt. I keep a telescoping magnet because I've dropped so many things. I'm going to install my Redlines tomorrow and see how it goes.
I have a telescoping magnet, but it wasn't long enough. Those fender wells are deep dark black holes. I'm going to find a longer one for future clumsiness. And I am also going to start putting a fender cover (or towel) over those holes when I'm working under the hood.

It's pretty easy to pull a couple of the push pins from the fender cover and let them drop out the bottom. Don't ask me how I know.

Are those the Redline hood strut brackets? Those look small like the FP ones. Have you noticed any bending/flexing of the hood at that point when closing the hood? I was expecting them to be longer like the Steeda ones to provide more support.

S/B Yes! They are from the RED LINE Kit. I also have the longer brackets but they do not sit well on my hood mounting area. ( They seem to move slightly). As to the flexing or bending. I am pretty Anal about my car and I was very careful when mounting these older struts. I carefully checked the up and down movement and there is NO bending or flexing I can see or have noticed. Each time I open the hood I watch for any additional movement. So it's all good.

No one likes the Roush strut kit? I like the fact it has multiple bolt points for the fender (bolt by the battery and fender) and hood (connects to both hood bolts).. just looks sturdier .. no ?
I bought the Roush for the reasons you noted. Worked out great!

Roush looks good, but I prefer not having to mess with hood realignment. How about this one, which was only mentioned once at the beginning: https://www.shopmrt.com/2015-2019-Mustang-MRT-Hood-Struts-p/80u900.htm . Doesn't seem to have any drawbacks, and no modification at all needed. Comments welcome, since I might have missed something. But so far, that'd be my choice. Thanks.

Doesn’t the fact that these were only mentioned once in 90 posts tell you something? Honestly they’re fine. Some folks didn’t like the fender mounting location (too far rearward). They’re the same price as Redlines so pick your poison.
