The below posted ICEpower amp module can deliver up to 1kW of power when applied properly such as the Bel Canto Reference amplifier. With the amp module both weight and heat loss are saved such as the Bel Canto amp weighing less than 20 pounds compared to say a traditional amplifier by McIntosh weighing in at around 150 pounds with comparable power at 1.2kW...

The guy who's sketch won an internal Ford competition to design a 4-seat sporty car died last week. His name was Gale Halderman. So why post that in this thread?
  1. His name for the car he sketched? Cougar (check out that grill)
  2. It was his idea for a Ford electric car
From AutoBeat….

In 1961, Halderman was working on a design study project of a small electric car concept for Ford’s Advanced Design Studio.

When Lee Iacocca, who at the time headed the company’s Ford Div., and product planning engineer Hal Sperlich saw clay models of the Astrion/Firefly concepts, it prompted the executives to revive their plans to develop a compact sporty car, Halderman recalled in a lengthy 2002 interview with Collectible Automobile.

After several concepts failed to hit the mark, Ford launched a contest among its designers in September 1962. The mandate was to create a sporty 4-seater that was no more than 180 inches long, weighed less than 2,500 lbs and could be sold for under $2,500.

Chicago was not dubbed The Windy City because of the weather. It got the name because the politicians in Chicago were recognized as big blowhards who were full of bluster and hot air.
No doubt. But have you stood on the platform at Quincy? The wind is brutal. Try it every day and you'll be a believer in short order.

When GM Powertrain HQ was in the old Pontiac Motor Division HQ building in Pontiac, I experienced the worst wind tunnel effects I've ever experienced. On a daily basis, because Pontiac as a whole isn't windy at all. Had to be something about the building structure / placement in regards to the normal wind flow. Get about 20 yards beyond the building entrance and all was fine and stable.
