The producer recording "Sweet Child O' Mine" with Guns n' Roses suggested there be a breakdown at the end of the song. The band had no idea where to take the song, resulting in the iconic repetition of "Where do we go now?"

The band “Chicago” was trying to finish their 2nd album. They locked themselves up in an apartment and just started trying to come up with ideas for a couple songs to finish the album. It was getting ridiculously late, tempers were getting short, and at some point one of them asked “does anybody know what time it is?”, a mocking reference to a song on their 1st album. One of them looked at his watch and said “it’s 25 or 6 to 4” am.

25 or 6 to 4 was the first Chicago song to crack the top 5 on the pop charts. It was banned in a number of countries because it was widely believed that the title was drug code.

Van Halen’s mid-80’s hit, Hot for Teacher starts with drummer Alex Van Halen using a total of 4 bass drums in order to emulate the sound of a motorcycle at idle.

In 2004, the NBA used “Let’s Get It Started” by The Black Eyed Peas as its promotional tune. You couldn’t see anything basketball related without hearing “Let’s get it started, (ah ha) Let’s get it started (in here)”

But if you bought the Black Eyed Peas album/CD “Elephunk” you would know that the actual name of the song is “Let’s Get Retarded” and that the lyrics are hilarious and wickedly non-PC. “Let’s get retarded (ah ha) let’s get retarded (in here)....everybody, let’s get into it, let’s get stupid.....bang your spine like epilepsy....let’s get ignorant, let’s get hectic.

Early in his Motown career, while he was still attending Michigan School for the Blind, Stevie Wonder wrote a song about his girlfriend, Marsha. There was a year or two delay from the recording of the instruments in 1967 until the eventual release of the song. During that time Stevie and Marsha broke up. He re-worked the lyrics and changed the title and recorded the new vocals over the original music. My Cherie Amour was released in 1969 and peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts. So close, Marsha....so close.
