I don’t remember seeing it before. My kids pointed it out.
Am I missing something?

Sorry, RJ, no back seat on mine so can't help. I bet @marklboris knows. :-) Tob, too and probably Jaime as well.

Edit: Very strange though...took my yard work helper home today in Sarah, which he loved, of course, <smile> and on the way back, the Eagles "Hole In The World" cued up. It's on a playlist I built recently thinking it was an appropriate track for the times. Funny that you found "a hole," too. :-)

I like to disassemble things.
Is there a photo you linked that isn't showing? Are you talking about where you connect a tether on the parcel shelf? Beyond that I have no idea what "hole" you are talking about.

It looks like a microphone. I never noticed it before:

I heard that they were using sound canceling technology to suppress unwanted sounds in the cabin. I wonder if that may be one of the microphones in that system?

Just saw this thread. That is the rear ANC (automatic noise cancelling) microphone. The front ANC microphone is in the overhead console and is the little round hole on the left side of the console.

So something is missing?
