CR racing (I believe, as I have saved link), makes the aluminum coolant tanks for Shelby. They USED to have them on there site and was planning on getting one as they were about 1/2 the price of the shelby ones minus the logo. But it appears they no longer have them listed, maybe they got in trouble for selling naked ones for cheaper. I think the black powdercoated ones look great and understated, not a fan of the raw aluminum ones, just looks out of place in the GT500 engine bay ....IMO.
To me, I think the aluminum looks the most at home in this engine bay, with the massive aluminum blower on top, and the aluminum water housing and such. Different strokes I guess, but you can't go wrong either way.

I have a bunch of aluminum pieces ordered, and I think will look right at home with FPB & white stripes.

I have went back and forth on aluminum vs black through the years...i am on the black 'phase' of my life right now i guess, and 10 years ago i thought black wheels were the stupidest thing ever created, yet now I dig them. Course everything has its place and can look good if done right.

Same, I always hated black wheels, but have come to like them now. My new wheels I ordered, are a combination of both and will be the first set that aren't 100% black in the last 5 sets I bought lol.

On my last car, I did the black coolant tank, and everything else was carbon fiber. I want to change things up on this one, and avoid the carbon fiber bug all togeteher :like:

Luckily i have never been bit by the CF bug, i do like it, but with all the overplayed fake CF on anything it just ruined it.

Likely I am going with Forgeline CF3C-SL 21" multi piece wheels with polished lips and dark grey centers if i ever get my car.

Funny you say that, I went with 21" Signature SV302S multi piece wheel with polished lip

Man, that tray looks so much better in gloss black, Jaime! I love it and I'm guessing the decal application went smoothly as it looks perfect from here.

Fingers crossed the adhesive holds and the snake doesn't shrivel.

Edit: I just noticed the caps. <grinning> They look great, too.

Thanks Kent, the gloss black rain tray does look nice, they did a good job.

Lets just say its a good thing your eyes will never see it... I felt like a junkie by the time I got done with the TB syringe popping all the bubbles, haha. In person the scars are slightly visible, but overall it looks good.

Yep, those are the next project I am working on :sunglasses:

I was bored today, so I decided to peek into the optional, factory designed & built, oil catch can. My car only has 700 miles on it, and as you can see in these pictures, it is already catching oil.

Also, the oil mist is being captured and returned to its original form before it drips back into the cam cover. This satisfies my theory that this being designed by Ford engineers means the catch will work properly, and return OIL to the engine, not the frothy crap substance that most aftermarket cans produce. I am very happy to see this.

Kent & I discussed painting the tray or at least sanding the surface smoother. But I installed as is because I don’t intend to install the tray except for show purposes. Smoother would certainly be better.
The decal is really nice. :handshake:

I will say, that was my intention, but my neighbor is the manager of the body shop at a dealer and painted it for me, for free. Otherwise I probably would have done what you are doing.

I must say, I like the single color, I was worried that it wouldn't stand out on a black background, but it does plenty.
