KB, I have an extra set of the red domed letters if you want them. You may not have noticed on my engine bay photo, but I had them thinly outlined in black. The reason was, I did not want the letters to have hard edges and look like they were just stuck on. It blends in more with the black support they are attached to. And so far with over 400 miles on them being in that location, no issues. That support does not get so hot you cannot touch it so I think they will be fine.

DO appreciate the offer, Mark but let's see if the vendor's guarantee holds up. I'm in no rush but if it falls through, I may take you up on it.

And thanks for the confirmation on heat issues for that support. I was PRETTY sure I'd remembered touching it when the engine was up to temp and I didn't get burned. :-)

I'll take her out tonight or tomorrow and find out for sure. She needs another bath already just from the dust and a couple drives...geeze.

Continuing on a few other mods this week, I plan on adding some of the options that are standard on a GT Premium which Ford left off the GT500. So with that said, I replaced the cup holder with the illuminated cup holder. Fits right in the console no issue. There are 4 wires for illumination. Black is ground, blue is the blue LED, green is the green LED and orange is the Red LED. I combined the blue and green wires together giving me the Ice Blue color of the rest of the interior lighting at night. I took the power from the parking brake illuminated switch. On that switch there is an 8 pin connector. Pin 1 is illumination 12v+ (Violet/Gray) and Pin 2 is illumination ground (Black/Blue). As far as other ambient lighting, I will be adding under dash/footwell, door handle and door storage been lighting but that will be down the road.

Another item Ford left out is this sound insulated panel under the dash on the passenger side. It does not weigh anything and keeps the noise down from the fan motor.

@marklboris You sir, have the hallmark of someday becoming a mad scientist!

Part number for the panel please?

Some folks here are advancing my own OCD at a concerning rate....

I wanted to keep my car stock, for the most part your are making it extremely difficult lol.

Appearance and functionality mods have been great to see Mark, your ideas and workmanship is truly next level.

Please stay away from the performance stuff, for my sake lol.

Thanks but the way I look at it is, it's my car. I want it the way I want it.

The part number for the Insulator Panel is: FR3Z-6301670-AA

As far as the performance stuff, the first couple of days I had the car, I replaced the front springs with the CFTP springs and same with the rear sway bar and bushings. I changed out the thermostat with a 180˚ unit per Lund Racing's recommendation and also have one of their tunes. Replaced the OEM air filter with an AirRaid filter (much more flow), installed a Ford Performance oil seperator, Lethal Performance resonator delete X-Pipe and of course replaced the wheels with much lighter Signature SV902's. Not going to be doing much else mechanically right now except for replacing the brakes with G-Loc GS-1 brake pads for less brake dust.

Guys, these are the caps I had on my '07 and mentioned a page or two ago. Too bad they don't have something like it currently, but if there was enough interest Shelby might offer something.....

Scott Drake makes almost all of Shelby America's caps, and wheels actually. I have a set on the way, they make some goos stuff.

CE Racing makes all Shelby America's coolant tanks, and I think also there radiators and heat extractors.

CR racing (I believe, as I have saved link), makes the aluminum coolant tanks for Shelby. They USED to have them on there site and was planning on getting one as they were about 1/2 the price of the shelby ones minus the logo. But it appears they no longer have them listed, maybe they got in trouble for selling naked ones for cheaper. I think the black powdercoated ones look great and understated, not a fan of the raw aluminum ones, just looks out of place in the GT500 engine bay ....IMO.
