I had to take the 2015 LE in this morning, there is a noise coming from the right front and an odor I am not familiar with.
Almost sounds like a low or flat tire when driving but that isn't the problem.

My guess is that it is a bearing but I'm not quite sure. I'll find out soon enough i'm sure.

I was just curious if this is a common issue on Mustangs or if there may be something else I should be looking at?

The wheel bearing failures are common - seems to be more prevalent on the 2015-2017’s than later 2018+.

There’s a few threads on here about it. Some have had premature failures with very low miles (like under 5k) and others within the 12-15k range and up. Some have even had to replace the same wheel bearing 2 and 3 times.

EDIT:
Here’s one thread for reference:

Not sure if it was common, but when I bought mine used this past January, the Carfax reported that the rear diff. had been replaced under warranty at 7,000 and then again at 11,000 miles. WTH?!

That seemed a little disturbing to me.

I would say bearing are a common issue thats been going on for years. I had 2, 2002's and a family member a 2004, a friend with a 2005 and a co worker with a 15. All had bad bearing at some point. My 2 cars were around 40k when they went.

Previous owner liked doing burnouts is my guess.
