Same form factor as the XS item, comparable performance, less expensive; these two are ever-so-slightly taller than the 96R form factor, and might require modification or elimination of the battery cover. Or as in mine, just ignore slight interference.

Advanced Auto Parts has an exact fit 96r AGM battery now available. I have purchased one for my 2016 Mustang but have not installed it yet. When i was surfing the Advanced Auto Website a 25% off code was at the top of the screen. I used that for $50 off with core battery which brought the price down to $150 plus tax.

There is talk out there about AGM batteries requiring the charging strategy needs to be updated in the BCM otherwise your alternator will not charge it correctly. I don’t know if this is valid but check with your dealership to confirm..

Parts, I had a battery replacement due to mine sitting 2 years as a leftover, so needed replacing.

I am pretty sure ford parts guy said, we can replace for free with oem original, but there's an upgraded version for like 50 more bucks.

im cheap, I said free is better. but I don't know which motocraft battery he was referring too. next time if its real, im going to toss in the upgraded one since I have subwoofer/amp and such.

they are all heavy. never understood weight savings $$ for batteries. I mean maybe if we was in competitions/sponsored/no budget.

ie. my motorcycle battery lets say weights 5 lbs (making it up) for 100 bucks. my friends was buying like 3.5-4lb batteries for 3-4-5-9402384x the cost. and they swore by justifying it, they was never any faster than me on the track lol.

oh and funny, my oem motorcycle batteries are on like year 5-6 and theirs was getting replaced at like 2 years.

In mainly looking to cut weight off the nose, to offset the I'll effects of a future super charger.

This car is already too heavy as is. And the majority of that is on the nose, making things worse.

I'll be due for battery replacement soon anyways. It's worth my money to cut some pounds while replacing it.

The car is not a daily, so I may look into lithium battery options. I could just plug it into a charger when parked. I'll relocate to the trunk. That would cut front end weight, and move what's left off the nose.
