I would take the stripes off. Take the car and get the paint corrected, PPF and ceramic coated then put the big worm stripes on. My car didn't come with stripes which I was fine with. Already have all of the aforementioned things done except for the stripes yet.

PPF -> big worm stripes -> ceramic coat
You don't want to damage the stripes again.

Getting the vinyl stripes removed and having them painted on like factory, after they are cleared they will be shiny and no more tacky vinyl ….

Unfortunately you cannot buff vinyl. My concern would be that they would scratch up the paint while trying to fix the stripes and ultimately fail at doing so anyway. I would either live with it (and ask for a higher discount) or have them cover the cost of replacement.
Yes you can buff vinyl, I have done it may times.

Not sure how well you can tell but my car was left out sitting for two weeks at the dealer, must have rained and hard water stained/etched the stripes. Left is before, right is after correction followed by a coat of wax

Thanks for all the info. Will see what happens tomorrow. They have offered to discount the cost of removal and installation and provide me with new stripes.

If all good, should be driving it home later tomorrow.

you can buff-polish vinyl stripes. I did that to my black ones, but even if you look at them wrong they'll scratch - polishing took it to an acceptable level for me. Look up Ammo NYC on Youtube - he has a McLaren Longtail and M5 Polizei videos - where he talks about polishing vinly stripes.

After polishing, either put clear bra on stripes or at least coat it. That would keep them protected.
