Not sure if they have it for the '18-'20 GT's, but for $600 I got a CAI, TB and a tune from FRPP for my '16. I plan to put it on this spring and take it to my friend's dyno. I'll report back with the results.

we had 2 small fan in the front. but
max power output is achieved in 7 gear ( 1:1 ratio) which reach 170mph speed. at those speed i can guarantee you no fan will simulate this air ( no even wind tunnel lol) . and at those speed the amount of air passing through the front of the car ( for heat managment) and the AIR INLET is huge.
the air inlet will receive way more air then going at 7500rpm 170mph in a static dyno..
i was thinking too that hood down was a good way to test.
but in a second thoughts I think is less realistic than open hood ( in fact NASA car association tests the car with open hood ) .
but in both case I saw gain so ..I'm kind of happy..I'll test the steeda to see the difference

why do some tuners tell you to install it? the jlt. because i have 2 out of 3 saying with headers etc....to do it, that with-out the intake the 500 hp range is out if you do not install it? just curious, especially those that have actually done it and not just say because someone else said......

Remember this is on 2015 car.
Plus this is the 350gt one.
The JLT i tested had 120mm tube.
So different type on intake
Yup.. A 15 with gen 3 intake. He’s implied that he’s tested other brands but can’t publicly say it because of the backlash as a Lund employee.

either way, I don’t think it’s worth the money. Resistance from stop and go traffic is worse. Under ideal circumstances, I bet the jlt will make a handful of hp (buttdyno won’t feel and we’ve never seen 1/4 mile mph go up). It’s a nice placebo.

If you got the extra cash go for it, with a tune required one. I got a JLT and power gains are not really noticeable, but the throttle response improved greatly and it sounds cool too. More of a personal taste and driving experience mod than actual power mod.

Tested this week. On dyno (video few comments above)

Nice gains! I saw that when I was reading through. Some people get more out of it than others. Think it's a combination of other mods working in conjuction, tunning, and the dyno itself.

so you know when you get that feeling somethings not right. i believe the dyno is a great starting place. but in real world testing the conditions are so uncontrollable i really wonder what the real world testing would be like, i get the heat soak issues and i can tell you in that in the hot humid south texas air it is hard to breathe, and that can't make it easier for the car. but other than a bit better isolated the intakes are pulling in the same air so how else can the open air elements improve over stock? toying with insulating the shield. only opting beyond this would be a bigger closed box.

How often do you think that you will reach speeds over 150 MPH to actually benefit from the CAI?
I doubt there will be much time spent there if any on a road course, dragstrip or hopefully not - public roads.

Just watched it. Nicely done.

I don’t have a dog in this fight. I’m not na. My interpretation of this is really down to what you do with the car and where you live. It’s obvious that the jlt makes some more power when the weather is cool (I live in Vegas) and if it’s not heat soaked. I agree that both intakes would make more power on the road with more load and airflow. I think that stop and go traffic or waiting in the staging lanes for any amount of time would effect them open element more then the stock box. It would probably recover better after the fact tho. There’s a lot of variables imo and for basic setups I don’t think it’s worth it. If you already have a cat less setup/ tune/ octane/ blah blah blah, it’s slightly different.

When people post about a cai, it’s usually someone with a stock car and wanting the best bang per buck basic mods.

appreciate the video! Btw I def think the car was either walking or bouncing a bit. If nothing is loose or out of balance/ alignment it has to be the rebound

Did you buy it from them?? How often will you be running your car at the rpms that the 500 hp was made??

flyhalf: You're posting peak numbers that you said not to focus on in your video....
