Althought I liked the volume of the resonator delete and stock mufflers, I still wanted to improve the sound and tone. So I finally decided on some axle backs. After doing a ton of research I decided on the SLP loudmouth 2s. They are supposed to have no rasp and be low volume.
I had them installed about a month ago and while I do like the sound the volume increase was more than I expected. Cold start up is wake the neighbors embarrassing loud. If I use remote start up in the parking lot at work you can hear it inside the building and everyone outside stops and looks. Also when passing in traffic at low RPM it sounds like I'm trying to race everyone next to me. I did not want a Hey look at me loud exhaust.
So I need advice. I like the tone and there is no rasp like I wanted but it's just too loud. Should I put the suitcase back on? Is there another option to quite it down just a bit?
Not currently but I have. Similar volume to the oem resonator but better tone. Thanks for the suggestion. Are you running this on your car?
I don't want to kill all the volume tho. Is it still louder than the stock resonator at least? Not currently but I have. Similar volume to the oem resonator but better tone.
Could try adding bullet resonators somewhere in the piping if possible. From my experience the resonated X was only slightly louder than the oem one.I don't want to kill all the volume tho. Is it still louder than the stock resonator at least?
I'm curious if anyone is running the SLP loudmouth 2 setup with this resonated x-pipe.
Yes, its supper boomy right now.Could try adding bullet resonators somewhere in the piping if possible. From my experience the resonated X was only slightly louder than the oem one.
I've heard the SLP LM2 with the X (although it may have been with the borla resonator, a resonated H pipe) and I remember it being very boomy, low tones which carries easily.
Something like Vibrant 1792 or 1793. They don't attenuate sound as much but do calm the tone.Yes, its supper boomy right now.
Forgive my ignorance but what is a bullet resonator? How it is different from the resonated x-pipe?
I fit mine right past the mufflers before the double x. Was based off of these:Where do the resonators typically go in the exhaust? Right behind the h/x pipe?
