However, I am a reasonable man and I will admit that the Redeye will win on the drag strip (1/8 mile) if you put drag radials on.
The Redeye may also be a little bit faster in the quarter mile on a tire. (Drag radials)

GT500 just needs that launch control rpm raised and I'd imagine it will hurt redeye feelings.

I’m just talking stock to stock.
GT500 will beat the Redeye at everything.
Redeyes on drag radials sure are fast though.
The reason the Redeye on drag radials may beat the GT500 in the quarter mile is the 60 foot time.
Best a stock GT500 will do is about 1.65
Redeye can do about a 1.45

FWIW: 9 seconds of performance isn't a lot. Never understood why someone would spend all day, for ~15s of fun, when you can just go to a track, instead. While having minutes and minutes and minutes of performance. While testing out all the dynamics of the car, not just acceleration.

I mostly agree with you however.....,..going to the drag strip is very inexpensive compared to going to a road course/track

Also way less chance for an accident.
