and you know all this because you were there and know all the ins and outs of the gt500? So the pics of Ford engineers going over the car didn’t have it set up for track?
Motortrend went into great detail on how the GM engineers helped them set the C8 for track alignment and even mentioned it shaved 2-3 seconds vs the stock car. It even highlights the track alignment in the posted time. Nowhere in the article does it state that either Ford received any track alignment settings in either the article or posted times.

That makes this even more impressive. Set those GT500’s up with the most aggressive track alignment and it would have been a bigger win for Ford.

Who want's to bet they used the street alignment for 1/4 mile testing and the track alignment for road coarse testing.

And all the GM nutswingers were calling out Evan Smith for cheating by lowering tire pressure. Pffft.

Do you really believe that Ford sent both cars and not have it all set up for the track? Right in there own manual says what to adjust for degrees. Just because it wasn’t done at the track or in front of MT, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Obliviously only they know, but to assume theses cars were not set up for a track test by a mag is a little naive. I agree the C8 adjustments are more then normal car’s usually have for track. But the C8 was still a preproduction car, so soon we will see if any more adjustments were done for production cars.

Hows is it any different then the Ford drag day. They had all cars set up for best drag setup, that’s why they didn’t allow the cars to be shut off as they would need to reset every time.

Gothca. So you're saying putting the GT500 in track mode with particular launch settings is now the same as doing a complete suspension alignment with specialized tools.

Idiocy at it's finest here people. This is truly how the nutswingers think.

The waiting that is being done to make adjustments on the C8 is the same reason Ford postponed the advertising of the 760hp measurement so they could wait for the C7 ZR1 at 755hp so Ford could up it from the leaked 720 and be the most hp.

Forget the camaro says Randy. Game over with the GT500 CFTP for the C8 Corvette.

I love the new GT500, love my GT350R and I also love the C8 Vette (cancelled my C8 Vette order and bought the R). This track comparison doesn't exactly showcase the GT500s talents nor do I think the GT500 "destroyed" the Vette. If anything, it showcased how a base engined 495 hp C8 can hang with a 760 hp beast on a track that has so many high speed straights where a car like that is destined to dominate. No question the GT500 really handles well for a 4,000 lb. car, but I'm patiently waiting to see it at Laguna Seca or another more technical track- preferably driven by Randy. Should be very interesting.

Where you do you people come up with this B.S.?

"The delay is a result of several factors. A six-week UAW strike meant the end of the last-gen C7's production would be pushed back until next week. The Bowling Green assembly plant also needs additional time to retool its facilities, as well as hire and train a second shift."

So....launch control is drag setup ? The launch control was set at a certain RPM. Also Ford went back to back to show the cars would not heat soak......should have actually read about it instead of hashing up some stuff from people who were not there or was as misinformed as you.

They are idiots. Funny thing is, according to the C6 idiots the GT500 heatsoasks and performs worse than Camaros and Corvettes with changes in temperature and DA.

I did read it and don’t remember Ford saying anything about heatsoak. Maybe you can show me. And I was mentioning how companies set up there cars for the test there doing. Millhouse mention the C8 used street for drag then track for track and was complaining about. So I said how is it different then having gt500 set up best for drag, then go to the track and have them set up for the track. It’s to get the most out of the car.

It does not make sense for Ford to get in the biggest showdown ever and not setup the CFTP in track setup. If they didn't that would make them stupid, which they are not.

Well, they did release the Mustang Mach E so yes, Ford can be stupid.

I can’t believe I’m saying this. It’s because one is a literal button push and the other is a mechanical alignment using special tools. How you don’t understand the difference is beyond me.

I must say, the OP of this thread really did a good job of trolling. He only posted 3 times after The original post. He threw gasoline on this fire and ran.

great troll job!!!
It's all good discussion and food for thought.
