What are you guys being charged to mount , balance, install tpms sensor per wheel? I purchased 2 sets of wheels and tires, and sensors. I'm calling arround to have them mounted. Two shops said they couldn't mount them wout damage to the wheels bc the side walls are so low(285/35/19). One shop said they would do it for 24$ per wheel, but that they might damage the wheels and they arent responsible for damage. My local ford dealer said they could do them wout damaging them, but wanted 35$ per wheel to offset the chance of damaging one and having to replace it. $280 to do 8 wheels seems kind of steep. Most shops just want to do truck and SUV tires. Anything else is a pain in their ass. Are any of you having similar problems in your area?

Anyone? I'm looking to get these done today, unless that price is taking advantage of me.

Go to Tire Rack and check the certified installers in your area. For the most part they are reasonably priced and do good work.

If they have the right equipment and training, there should be no damage. Some places don't.

I just dropped them off at the ford dealership. $35 a wheel , but they guarantee no damage or they replace it. I usually order tire wheel packages so I dont need to deal w the hassle of finding someone I trust to get it right. But w black Friday deals, it was cheaper to order from separate businesses.

It varies.

$40 per wheel for a high quality place that works on expensive wheels and cars. The type of place you can trust with a Porsche or Ferrari, with top tier equipment and patient professional installers. They’ll do good trustworthy work but you’ll pay more for it.

as low as $20 per tire for a good neighborhood place who ?probably? won’t scratch anything noticeable. These guys aren’t as patient but still have a lot of experience.

$50 per set for the local racer with tools in his garage. He’ll be difficult to schedule with and is only doing it in his spare time for other local racers. He’ll also won’t be taking them off or putting them back on the car and wants you to bring them to him clean and with old wheel weights already removed.

Hopefully all went well. $35.00 does not seem unreasonable if the work is good.

I just picked them up. They did a good job for the most part. A few very minor scratches in the powder coat on the inside of a few, and one small dent on the Inside of one wheel that i was told "it was like that when we opened the box". much better than the horrible damage the last tire shop did to my last wheels, but less than perfect. Looks like I'll be going back in the future. I dont know how to post pics unfortunately

Here we have 285 30 R18 tires being mounted and balanced by hand with the help of a 4 year old. It’s basically impossible not to damage the wheels, so might as well just pocket the money and damage the wheels myself.

I mount, balance my own motorcycle tires with a static balancer. But I thought a computer road force balance would be neccessary for the car tires. How do you balance them?
