Winter Wheel/Tire Cost

I'm gearing up for my first winter with the Mustang and looking through other threads out there, it looks like people are paying under $1500 for wheels and tires. I'm looking at Michelin X-ice Xi3's and PP style AM wheels (w/ TPMS), both are some of the cheaper priced options, and this is still running around $1750 not including mount and balance. Am I missing some cheaper options out there?

EDIT: Forgot to mention someone did suggest cheaper wheels which were about $200 less but may require spacers so that brings the cost up a bit again.

I had been looking through the classifieds section for about two weeks but didn't see anything. When did you sell them? Also what wheels did you have?

Check Craig’s list. You can usually find 4 wheels off of an S197 for dirt cheap. Then put the tires of your choice on em.

I had checked several times but couldn't find much. I did not look for S197 wheels though. Did they run 19's?

I don't think S197 wheels will work with our cars. Different stud diameters. I believe S197 are 12mm and S550 are 14mm.

I just picked up a really nice set of stock 2017 18's with tpms already installed and also a nice set of toyo snow tires that were like new (a little old but dont care) from diff folks on Craigslist. Add in the mounting and balancing and I'm in my set for 480 total.

I'll do another round of searching and see what I can find. I haven't mentioned but I have the PP so most likely need 19's.
