am I supposed to be impressed ? It’s homely , Looks like something my daughter would love to be cruising town in , in about 12 years when she’s 18. I have a 900 whp e85 whippled s550 , you know , a normal mustang , sitting in my shop. You have fun prancing around in your silent manvan with a horse on the grille.

True - I agree - a 900 whp stock block Coyote mustang will spend a lot of time sitting in the shop.

Posting pics of a nice looking SUV make me glad to see a nice looking SUV. It’s nice that the world has them.

But that ford is actually trying to convince people to accept it as a Mustang... the pics make me LOL a bit. Because of how obvious even the best marketing shots make it that this simply isn’t anywhere near being a Mustang.

It’s not. And wasn’t intended to be. It’s literally a last-minute Marketing band-aid that wasn’t even needed.

fun fact: the vehicle was never intended to be an SUV version of the Mustang. It was designed to be an even smaller and more aerodynamic EV.

Then someone decided it needed some pixie dust and so they ground up the Mustang brand and sprinkled some of its remains in this SUV. All in hopes of hyping the EV. shows where they rate the Mustang brand and it’s fans.

if they simply designed the SUV to look like this or similar and put effort into performance and range, it’s a winner. Didn’t need to go and dump in the actual Mustang to do it.

meh apparently thinks he is accomplishing something by posting random photos with no context. I can post pics of a Suburban or Explorer and accomplish the same thing. Heck, I could post an image of spongebob and accomplish the same thing. But let him have his... whatever it is he’s having.

actually, it is HIS shop. Big difference. And that’s where it should be when it’s not being driven.
Another great thing about a real Mustang: you can enjoy as is, or keep improving it, depending on what you like.

I have to admit, this little Mazda is starting to grow on me.

This is an insult to Mazda. They're definitely making the best looking SUVs right now and they're doing it without mocking the styling of a five year old sports coupe.

I'm enjoying my college football Saturday particularly today because it's almost certain that some of the morons up in Dearborn who are responsible for this idiocy are fans of the team up there. So I hope that they're having a particularly miserable day after suffering their eighth straight loss to the Buckeyes. It's a fitting preview for what they're setting themselves up to experience at the hands of Honda, Toyota, et al.

Fittingly, there was an ad during the game that was a preview of what's in store for the Mustang brand under the current Ford management. Not the Mach E ad with Ford's current "rugged guy" trying to make a Model Y clone sound like it's worthy of the Mustang name. No, I'm talking about the Ford Edge ST ad where Ford portrays the ST as the ultimate mom van.

Karen tools along waxing poetically about what it means to be a true explorer, living on the edge. Only to be interrupted by her kids in the back seat requesting that they stop for "froyo". The incidental adult male riding in the passenger seat can only intone "Yes!" He is just as infantile as the children in this marketing vision.

This is what's behind all of this. Women buy the majority of new cars and they have a disproportionate impact on purchase decisions. That will only accelerate as cars increasingly become seen as appliances and women continue to account for a disproportionate number of college degrees.

Ford has written off the male demographic entirely outside of the truck market. The real Mustang will soldier on with the S550 platform for as long as its volume will permit but we're not going to see a major update under current management.

This is the new Mustang marketing image.

And that’s pretty much why the smaller, lighter s650 has disappeared...
So sad that this current leadership can affect so much so quickly in all the wrong ways.

Just thought you might find these of interest. Ford has always advertised the Mustang to woman. Back in 1964 they felt woman would be the #1 buyer for Mustangs.

Never knew that the S650 was supposed to be smaller and lighter. Also didn't know it was cancelled. Was there an announcement at the LA show about this?

car has a fast forward/sai li shortblock , and even if it didn’t, I would have no issue running a stock bottom end gen2 car at 900+ wheel on corn with a good fuel system. What are you trying to say with your nonsense anyways ? If your trying to make a point , I’m not seeing it. Mach E ISNT a mustang , never will be. If you think otherwise , that’s fine , but you are without a doubt in the minority , peace out.

Those ads are all form 64 1/2-65. When the car was brand new and had No reputation whatsoever. No one thinks of a big block 67-70 fastback as a woman’s car.

Ford has always marketed to women that fit the Mustang demographic. They've never thrown the male demographic completely out the window and changed the Mustang to focus it on the female demographic. That's what's happening here.
