I tried searching, but given the ample experience here, better to ask.
The Base GT500 has a staggered setup, and the CFTP has a square, yes?

STREET use is what im looking for - I will be going to an aftermarket wheels setup to shave weight, add rigidity, and style of course. Do I want to go with a staggered 9.5fr / 10-10.5 rear, or a 10fr/10r, or something else?

Keep in mind, usage will be very spirited street driving, and then straight-line competition. Sadly, It would never see a roadcourse, but i still want it to handle like a GT500, and reduce as much weight as possible, wherever possible.

Oh, and do we know the wheel offsets yet? I forgot to measure in Vegas

I think you AT least want 11fr/11r. I have not decided if i want to go with 11.5fr/11.5r, was kind of waiting for someone else to figure it out......

I am not sure there is much pros/cons for any of the setups. Obviously IMO wider looks better and staying true to factory sizes is probably always good. I am doing mine for a pure cosmetics. Now if your going nice forged wheels you could get the same wheels front and rear and use wheel spacers on one end which will allow wheel swap front to back easily, i am not sure if that is possible but some cars allow this if you can handle spacers. Tire prices might be a little cheaper for the smaller sizes but not enough to make a decision on.

The handling package uses 11x20 front and rear, the cftp uses 11x20f and 11.5x20r. Both have 305/30r20 front and 315/30r20 rear just different type tires.

Iā€™m getting signature wheels from deep 50 he has measured using a GT500 and is going to do a 11.5 square setup for me on cup2 tires. I have a base with handling package car. Not sure if keeping stock wheels as well with 4s or going to do another set of signature wheels using 4s

The main reason to go to a full square setup is to be able to rotate tires for wear purposes. To do this, the rims must all be the same size (in less you want to de-mount/remount the tires ā€” not a good idea).
Iā€™m pretty sure the GT500 will not come with the same rim offsets front/rear. So you have to change the front wheel hubs to longer studs and add a spacer so that the wheels/tires can be rotated. On the GT350, that spacer size was 25mm to make the rear wheels fit the front. We havenā€™t heard what the offset differences are for the GT500. So we donā€™t know if 25mm is the right size. (BTW: The front wheels canā€™t be made to fit on the rear at all)
If you are not worried about tire wear and only straight line performance, probably keep stock wheel sizes & offsets. Realizing you canā€™t rotate front to rear without swapping the tires.

Staggered to me is typically just cosmetic, no improvement in actual performance due to smaller tire size limits for turning and braking. Straight line performance the lighter narrow wheel up front will be beneficial.

But, the front offsets on the GT500 are sunken in considerably. With the lower offset of the 20x11" a thicker front pad is cut into the wheel to push it closer to the outer fender. They cut the lug nut recess to still work with the OEM stud length and bolt right on. The end result is a deep lug nut recess and thicker rear pad on the wheel, and add a little bit of weight as well.

Second option is a 20x11.5" front wheel that also comes out flush to the fender. This will allow you to run a wider front tire, and get some extra grip to go along with the added weight. The 11" and 11.5" will be very similar in weight due to the thicker rear mounting pad needed.

I'm getting 11.5" square setup as well from T. He said the base has 20x11" square and they have 305F/315R 4s as shown in these pics. I'm going to use the stock tires, for now. The 305s will be little stretched but isn't bad on 11.5" wheel. I will go bigger when they need to be replaced.
Almost positive this is a PS4S 315/30/20. It has the little checkered flag at the end of the tire size. I think the Cup 2 does not.

Im debating the same or forgestar F14s.

I have no need for rotating tires oem front and r888r rears.

What about the cars "tracking " on the road? I vaguely recall when i went staggered, it seemed to want to follow the grooves more often

I have had staggered on my previous 2 cars didnā€™t really notice any difference in driving

Tramlining with 11+ wide front wheels is almost given and generally is more tire selection related, some are better than others. Staggered or not, tramlining can be an issue.

I will be staying with the 11x20 (305/30/20) size up front, but going 11.5x20 (315/30/20) in the rear. I feel the 315's need that extra 1/2" to make the bulge match the fronts. I will use the factory rubber, as it does not make sense to buy another set & TMPS if I want 4s tires anyway. Only other thing I am in search of is a more aggressive offset, bringing the wheels out flush with the fenders. I can not wait until the offset gets figured out so I can go forward with my plans. I will be staying stock look, but snack pack version.

If serious about handling, you will fit as wide of a tire as possible up front and match the rear. With those extra wide fenders, 315 should be quite doable.
