Roush specifically says not to use octane boosters. Boostane tints shit orange.. How are you going to hide that?

6k miles on my car since the blower.. Running on 91 octane.. I'll keep my warranty for now.

That’s a positive response proving the roush tuning is good, but u could splash it with 1-2 gallons of 100 unleaded at the track or run octanium unleaded additive and they would never know, u night even see a few extra hp but again if your not having any issues then just keep running 91-93

Octanium has MMT in it too. MMT is the chemical that turns everything orange.

I went with the Roush because it has the warranty and 700 HP on a street car is plenty to make it seriously fun. The warranty expires after 3 years but I’m hoping any potential issues will pop up well before then. I’ve learned with Harleys that running motors at the ragged edge is an expensive and depressing option lol.

420, several posts back you said that you ran 11.9 @ 115 with the new tune and hardware in 4000 DA.....and it it heatsoaked and went downhill from there.

I assume you were running 91 octane on those runs? Drag mode? What rpm were you launching at? I want to love the Roush but I can't wrap my head around that trap speed.

From a pure safety perspective, the Roush/Ford Performance alliance is likely the best bet. Even when they roll out phase II, my guess is that it will be a bit more conservative than the other guys.....just because it has Ford's name on it.
Waiting for stage 2 here as well. Supposedly only a couple months or less away. And supposedly still keeps the warranty. Also the 36 months /36k is car miles not once the supercharger is on. Luckily mine was put on within about 700 miles but I will most likely reach the 36 months limit before my car hits 36k miles.

I am also leaning toward waiting for phase 2. I will only have 18 months of warranty (if there is a warranty with phase 2). Even if there is no warranty, I have more confidence in Roush than the others in terms of safety.

Over the weekend at FL2k19 a buddy running the Roush kit with an aftermarket tune (not PBD or VMP... custom tuner I am not familiar with) had some issues. His IAT's were at 160+ for all of his runs. First pass was an 11.5 at 115. It was downhill after that. Next run was a 12.2 at 109. He was seriously disappointed. I did not run mine, but have never seen IAT's that high on my own car. I am starting to think a Killer Chiller will be in my future.

91 Octane is the only thing I can get here in AZ. I have not tried adding Boostane yet. No Drag Mode, my car doesn't have it. Best run was the 11.9 and that was launching off of idle. Even when stock I couldn't get a decent launch when loading the tranny (I've tried 1500 to 2200 RPM) and my 60's are worse most of the time. Temps were still above 90 degrees outside that night. I now have an ODB2 device that can do some logging so I will be logging this Friday when I get to the strip again. I will keep you all posted. Temps are dropping but during the day it's still in the 90's.

I do wonder if my taller tires are contributing to the lower trap speeds a little bit. The 305 35 20" drag radials I have are a full 1" taller than my stock Michelins were. May have to swap back for some tests after this weekend.

I hate to say it but this info actually makes me feel a little better :) Definitely need better temps and DA around here!

How bout seeing a guy close to Atco take a pass on a Roush with canned running on a tire?

Or at least a track that’s not 90 degree’s with tons of humidity

Cecil?
HRP?

regardless of the temps.... the car should have run better....I can't imagine spending all that $$$ to run stock numbers.....

I can’t imagine running stock numbers. I went from stock to SC and the difference is night and day. Michigan doesn’t get very hot though.

Maybe it was the a combination of the temps and the tune? You said it was a tuner that wasn't familiar sounding.

It has to be the tune pulling power, but he was seeing iat2's of 168 to 178.... I would have liked to run my car in the same conditions to see the difference, but i have yet to get tires....
