I had a 'ghetto car' when I lived in LI, NY. It was a 1971 Impala that was crap brown, and I took all the hubcaps off it. It probably resembled the 'Death Mobile' in Animal House. Everyone stayed away from me, lol

Thankfully, I've found no chips from my little gravel exposure yesterday. They're milling the main road I take in to work, so hopefully they'll get it paved over-night tonight.

I'm here in San Jose as well. Drivers are bad. Shitheads in accords wanting to race, and any jackball (including women) riding straight on my ass until I brake check them. Sometimes I just pull over and let them go by- did that to some blockhead in a corvette that was riding my ass yesterday. I realize the Mustang has a nice ass and they probably want a sniff, but back the F off. Fortunately, this thing sits in my garage all week long and only comes out on the weekend to go to the gym or the liquor store. My commuter is a 2006 Hummer H3 that works just fine.

I'm barely over 100 miles and you should see how much they ride my ass because they see the swing with the handling pkg gurney flap and the GT350 badging & black stripes on Kona. Ifs a fine looking tail end for sure & Its like a magnet - to every POS white pickup or van driven by an 18 to 40 year old. I just cruse along - let em go around if on highway...not like I'm in a rush to park the car or mind accelerating on & off in sport exhaust mode. Just breakin' her in before the cold ends it way too soon (it was 43F last night barely outside of Boston).

Road construction sucks but it is a necessary evil.

The unnecessary evil part is them scarifying highways just to get billing started knowing they have started too many projects so late in the summer that they will not get repaved for months and possibly before the cold weather hits. Thats what seems to be going on up here.
Tramlining and significant wear & debris/stones being thrown keep me from a lot of otherwise good highway drives (i.e. Fridays to work). Motorcycles seem to be avoiding major roads too (I see none on these crapified major routes & interstates).

I don't know WTF is going on with me, emotions are not normally a thing for me.

But this car is so nice, I'm starting to be concerned about driving it. The damn drivers in D.C. are so terrible, I'm worried about being rear-ended by one.

I even just called my insurance agent and upped my coverage on the damn car.

Drivers suck everywhere, for every reason imaginable, but life's too short so drive what you like and enjoy.
My GT has been my DD since 02/01/19; 18,000 miles and loving it.
(and yeah, they're damned nice!)

I was a sponsor's guest & then independently parlayed that into work on an engineering project also for KV Racing. So that was 2012 TK's car - he placed podium in 3rd - very exciting - great guy and great crew @ KV. It was a string of good luck & engineering recognition for me - for my design proposal reward I still have TK's real backup helmet from Indy that year w/visor signed. Brushes with greatness! The next year it was KVSH & TK won the 500. My day job kept me too busy for side projects - I tied to start the project back up in 2016 with KVSH (Sebas the driver) and they were interested but it was the 100th running and the place was mobbed & when I was at track my contact wasn't and vice versa. It was a logistics nightmare. Oh well. I did get this from their garage entrance over gasoline alley (I also got the one for Stefan Wilson's Indy 500 run that year).

In the basement shop - I swear I will hang them up someday along with the Dallara radiators & oil coolers and Indy dampers & other mancave engineering stuff.
