Hey Galaxy, you are correct, the 30 days is to allow for offgassing. If you wax or seal it could turn cloudy and haze over. I learned that the hard way with my 15' GT 4 years ago when I had to have some bumper work done. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Cool. Thanks for the vote of confidence man...I shall leave it alone for now.

Smart man taking the bumper cover off yourself and delivering to them. I think that always results in a better job, less issues with masking and less possibility of something damaging the rest of the car. I've had a couple backing accidents with the rear bumper on my 03 Lightning and I have always removed it myself and dropped it off to the dealer and always got a perfect repair/repaint.

When I was talking to the shop, they were going to take the bumper skin off anyways. After getting that info, it was a no brainer (it was a no brainer to begin with, but you know what I mean, LOL). And removing that skin is noooo big deal after doing it now. I could literally have that skin off in 15-20 min if I had to do it again. In fact, it's such an easy job, I recommend anyone battling with bumper gap issues to at least try removing the skin yourself and tightening up all the brackets underneath before doing anything else.

So what's the plan for the stripes?
Sticking with factory. A little more pricey, but two shops have said they can't perfectly match the color, like Johnny said, the taper is different, and there's some value there on time and effort from running around trying to find something just to make it work. If I were re-doign the whole car in something different, it'd be a different story.

I'd be happy to call my credit card into white bear lake and split it with you. It's the least I could do.
